Really chuffed with this find! I quite enjoyed the first #ZofiaTurbotynska mystery, so I‘m looking forward to reading this second one. 👍🏼The #coverart is pretty cool too.

A good month - I‘ve learnt so much, from French poisoning techniques to the politics of health care and Eastern European history. I‘ve been out to sea, and tagged along with a Victorian sleuth. I‘ve been disturbed by a vision of the near future and questioned the validity of our personal ‘truths‘. It‘s been an enlightening month!
The last two books I purchased on Independent Bookstore Day have arrived. 💖
I love Sofia- she's smart, feisty, cutting & deeply concerned with her social status! It has a strong historical context but brings to it a modern sensibility as well. At times supporting characters have longish discussions that give context, history and social norms that can slow the narrative down little at times. That doesn't distract from a mature mystery that has a strong feminist voice.
And this feels perfect for the weekend....👍🏼
