Freaky Friday meets The Parent Trap in this sparkling and heartfelt story about sisters, second chances, finding romance, and finding yourself. Jamies an aspiring standup comic in Los Angeles with a growing case of stage anxiety. Siris a stunning ballerina from New Jersey nursing a career-changing injury. Theyve both signed up for the same session at an off the grid Re-Discover Yourself Retreat in Colorado. When they run into each other, their worlds turn upside down. Jamie and Siri are sisters, torn apart at a young age by their parent's volatile divorce. Theyve grown up living completely separate lives: Jamie with their Dad and Siri with their Mom. Now, reunited after over a decade apart, they hatch a plot to switch places. Its time they get to know and confront each of their estranged parents. With an accidental assist from some fortuitous magic, Jamie arrives in New Jersey, looking to all the world like Siri, and Siri steps off her flight sporting a Jamie glamour. The sisters unexpectedly find themselves stuck living in each other's shoes. Soon Siri's crushing on Jamie's best friend Dawn. Jamie's falling for the handsome New Yorker she keeps running into, Zarar. Alongside a parade of hijinks and budding romance, both girls work to navigate their broken family life and the stresses of impending adulthood.

Loved the concept: Parent Trap meets Freaky Friday but there were a lot of tough issues and just bad, bad parenting in this that took it from being a fun storyline to feeling like you are ease dropping on maybe the author (or someone she knows) very real family drama. I honestly might hate the mom in this book more than the mom in Nicola Yoon's Everything Everything.

I so badly wanted to fall in love with this book, but it was honestly a chore to get through. Additionally, I found neither of the main characters likeable, and Jamie was actually annoyingly irritating. The book simply felt like Riccio was trying to mix the storylines of Freaky Friday and The Parent Trap, and although that sounds compelling, it was executed poorly. I was so ready to gush about this book, but overall it was simply disappointing.

My old lady Loki is laying on my arm while purring in my face and making it hard to read my Kindle on my lunch break. At least her old lady breath isn‘t super stinky today. #catsoflitsy #kindle #ebook #cats

Now that I‘ve finished the massive book that was World Without End, it‘s time for something lighter from the NYPL. #tea

6/10 A weird parent trap? I didn‘t hate the storylines of the girls but a lot of it was just weird? The grandparent stuff felt forced. Some dialogue was skipped over. Not a horrible book. Could‘ve been like 50 pages shorter.

4/5 for this one. I enjoyed this mix of Parent Trap and Freaky Friday. Jamie and Siri were such opposites. I was invested in their story. I needed to know why they were separated. I also loved the side characters. Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin‘s Press/Wednesday Books for this audio ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Okay, this book from #NetGalley is one I dont like, but I cant put it down. I keep hoping it gets better but it gets worse. It cant get worse again... Its the Parent Trap in ebook form with adult sisters and magic glitter bombs.

Rating: ⭐️
Dnf at 70 pages. The writing was horrible. The characters are one dimensional and annoying. Siri uses the words excrement and intercourse instead of swear words and Jamie swears horribly on every page. I just don‘t recommend this.
