Why do I have 2 copies? Excellent question. I was organizing my bookcase & saw Skyhunter. I knew, just knew I had a copy of Steelstriker. But could I find it? Of course not. I figured I was mistaken & ordered a new copy. Well, guess what. Today I found my original copy. Tucked into a fabric dust cover & then lost under a stack of other things.

This wasn't as thrilling as the first one in the series. I loved Skyhunter and maybe that made me to have too high hopes for this one. This had really predictable plot. Writing was good but this didn't make me feel something.

The Steelstrker which is the sequel to Marie Lu‘s Skyhunter is a ok book that I don‘t think I would read again. While it isn‘t really a bad book I can‘t say it was particularly good by any means. The story was interesting but I didn‘t captivate me as much as the first book. The story follows Talin and Red in their journey of reclaiming Mara by taking down the Karensa Federation.

I don't see myself as a fantasy reader, however I can't imagine not enjoying a Marie Lu novel. Descriptive narrative puts me to sleep, yet she does it SO WELL. Then she packs the story with action, while giving readers relationships of all kinds to value. This duology from Lu is no exception.

I'm hopeful to get to meet her at an upcoming festival.

Tagged book (Steelstriker) is my #doublespin book and I started it, got to 36%, and realized I didn't care one wit about it...so I DNF'd it.

I finished my #bookspin book, though. I actually DNF'd a few books this month, altogether four books total.

22 books knocked off my TBR...and only 3 books that I never got to. 8 Bingo's total!

The second book in a series, Steelstriker continues the war against the Federation with Red leading the rebels & Talin acting as the evil Premiers Skyhunter, a lethal weapon/bodyguard (against her will through a mental link). Still naturally linked to Red she must act behind enemy lines keeping the two men in her head out of her head. Just like the first book, Skyhunter, this one is also YA with the most beautiful cover and book jacket.

With all the excitement about Cloud Cuckoo Land, I forgot to post about this other treasure that arrived earlier this week! Steelstriker is the second and final book in this action packed sci fi duology by Marie Lu! I can't get over how GORGEOUS these covers are! 😍💕📚

HAPPY PUB DAY to #STEELSTRIKER by #MarieLu! got this yesterday and have not put it down. I loved the first book, SKYHUNTER, so I‘ve been eagerly waiting for the conclusion.
