The year is not correct, but I think this book is besmirching the cinematic classic Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters and this I cannot stand for!

(I always seem to read my #DoubleSpin book first.)
I think Parrish wrote with more depth when she was Indie, but this is a sweet, mostly cozy read and the “rivalry“ is very friendly. (There is some darker backstory.) I enjoyed a character who's a real chickenshit about spooky things, since I am myself.
Excellent choice for the #Scarathlon word search, btw. 193 words! And easily covered my 10 chapters for #20in4. 😁

I loved Bram & Zachary & the decorating contest. I would have liked a little more emphasis on the #Halloween prank war in the story line. This wasn‘t quite as strong a story as last year‘s Christmas story but it was still solid. 🎃🎃🎃🎃 #scarathlon #teammonstermash #harlequin
This was a fun Halloween romance. Bram and Zachary get off on the wrong foot when Bram moves into the neighborhood and threatens Zachary's chance of winning the annual Halloween decorating competition that means so much to him. But their prank war turns into something more and they're both left contemplating their pasts to figure out a future together

🎃My copy of @roanparrish ‘s newest book came in the mail 📦today!!! I‘m so excited to read this one!!! 📚 I nabbed the 2.5 novella on e too 🥰 Yay for release day delivery! #BookMailIsBestMail these will both definitely be next up on my TBR!
Loved being back in Garnet Run and seeing some past characters. Adored Bram! Such a sweetie! Struggled with Zach and wanted to change and develop more.
Roan Parrish is so, so good at taking characters who‘re a little out of sync with the world‘s expectations and pairing them up with people who understand all the ways their differences make them wonderful. She does that here via a prank war in the lead-up to an elaborate Halloween decorating contest that gives both characters a chance to fully inhabit themselves. It‘s emotional, it‘s fun, and it‘s packed with fall feeling for them what wants it.
Pain day reading. I‘m hoping to finish this Halloween-themed prank war romance, make some progress with the 19th century intersex memoir I‘m chipping away at, and read a couple of short stories, all while tucked up in bed.
