This book was an unexpected, glittering treasure in the dark. It felt unique and fresh to me, with captivating characters, stunning imagery, and imaginative world-building. It was a bedtime story whispered into my ear, keeping me reading late into the night, contemplating this spellbinding fairytale of life and death. I was entranced the entire way through.

pickRead this to approve for my 11 year old. The subject (fantasy) is similar to@what I would typically enjoy, just on a more PG level. No unnecessary sex or swearing. Easy read. The characters changed a little during the last third of the book, but all in all, a good read that I will definitely let my daughter read!

pickThis was mostly enjoyable. Loved the characters, gods, and fantasy world. But the romance was a let down. And I wanted more interaction between Hazel and her godfather, the god Merrick.
