The Dinner Club
The Dinner Club | Saskia Noort
10 posts | 1 read
Fans of Nicci French are in for a treat with The Dinner Club, the latest from the best-selling female Dutch crime writer of all time, Saskia Noort. On a cold winter's night, in a sleepy town outside Amsterdam, an elegant villa goes up in flames. Evert Struyck, happily married father of two, dies in the blaze. His wife, Babette, escapes with the children. Babette is a member of the Dinner Club, a group of women whose husbands all do business together. The Dinner Club are a happy and attractive group of young professional women, living a good life and enjoying their families and their friendships... Or are they? Karen, the most recent arrival in the Dinner Club, soon discovers that friendships within it are not as unconditional as they seem. And it becomes apparent that some people have benefited greatly from Evert's death... A hugely enjoyable psychological thriller, The Dinner Club is about families who want to keep up the outward appearances of perfection, and about those who will try to defend their success and happiness at all costs.

My second party of #5fordinner would be with those that are gone but not forgotten.
Wouldn't this be a fun Halloween dinner party?
Agatha Christie, Nickoli Tesla, Poe, VC Andrews, and HP Lovecraft. What conversation!

EvieBee Nice! I need to put mine together. They‘re all...dead. So trying to mix it up! 7y

•Stephen King

•Neil Gaiman
•George RR Martin

I'm tagging everyone who sees this post!! All of you!! Seriously!! Everyone!!

Tagged by @mrozzz ❤️ to think of my #5fordinner .... this was tough for me to narrow down, but these are my five for the moment. Goldman and Rowling to thank for my favorites. Rice to chat politics. Schwab to gush over books, movies, and television (she loves Parks and Rec 😁) and Gaiman because he‘s just so damn cool.

I‘m tagging @EvieBee @read-eat-travel-repeat @AndreaReads @TrishB and @vicgreentoriafield to post about your five picks!

ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled Oscar Wilde was one of my 5, too! 👍 He had to be the snarkist dinner companion, Im sure. 7y

#5fordinner My choices almost became a hen party! Deanna Rayburn, because I think she'd be an interesting conversationalist. I'm sure Patrick Taylor has a million great Irish stories to tell. Elly Griffiths because I want to see if she's like Ruth, her character. Anna Lee Hunter I've gotten to know via FB, plus she's also a singer so we have something in common. J K Rowling just because.
