For the first time I actually read all of the books I posted as my March TBR in March. I got distracted by other things but always returned to the original plan. Will this trend continue in April?
Here is my #Marchlineup most of which I will not actually end up reading. Not pictured are the ebooks I need to read including the rest of The Outlander which I really need to make progress on this month. I got sidetracked by having a few months of free Kindle Unlimited so this month I need to conquer more of Mount TBR. #magicalmarch
I loved this strange novel by Rosie Garland, which was nominated for a Green Carnation award a couple of years back.
Then I stumbled across her poem 'I want to be a teenager in Devon'. http://goo.gl/whq58L
Don't know whether to laugh or cry at that. I love Devon to bits, but that's a pretty accurate description of my life age 12-17. As in Every. Last. Word!

My #bestofapril were Vixen and Born a Crime - very different but both awesome. Very close behind : Jeffery Deaver - I'll definitely be reading more of Lincoln and Amelia - and Gillian Clarke's poems. #ro17 #aprilbookshowers
Death dances through England, shepherding in the Great Dying. Young Anne sets her sights on Father Thomas, the new priest. And after the storm, a creature- fish? Child? Blessing? - is brought in on the fishing nets.
Rosie Garland has just hopped onto my must-read authors list. Her writing, characters, storytelling- all unexpected. 💕
What IS this?
Always a good sign!

Another multitasker! I love this book. Gorgeous cover as well.
Garland's writing is gorgeous and it brings to life this story that reads like a fairytale. Taking place during the plague years in England, the novel follows a priest, a young woman, and a "maid." Definitely recommended to fans of magical stories! ??

Can't wait for Rosie Garland's new book. Magical realism set in 19th century Manchester.
She wanted Prancer but we vetoed that 😂

(Book not listed so tagged with different book by the same author. Read Vixen as well,it's brilliant.)
Rosie Garland's poetry collection about her journey with cancer. So beautifully written and unflinchingly honest.
#currentlyreading Everything Must Go by Rosie Garland (which isn't listed). A beautiful, painfully honest collection of poems about her battle with throat cancer.
