so-soI don‘t think I was the target for this, as it took me a little longer to get into. It‘s a good story about a teen girl who gets to pitch for a professional team right out of high school. It didn‘t focus on romance or drama (outside of “oh no a girl plays baseball”). It treats the whole story with realism though which was refreshing. It‘s a no frills baseball story FOR ANYONE! pickI loved this book SO much. It was so good. I grew up going to minor league baseball games so this gave me the warm fuzzies. Be warned if you aren't a baseball fan you may not enjoy this. I thought it was excellent! I went to the local candy shop on the way home from work and got a lovely bag of fresh candy to enjoy with my book!
pickJill gets the call that she's a 3rd round draft pick in the middle of her senior year Spanish final. She is about to become the world's first female MLB player. Jill just wants to focus on the game, not suddenly being a #richgirl, not the historical significance, and not the politics of the locker room but it gets harder to block out all of the noise. I liked this book a lot but was left unsatisfied by the ending. Hoping for a sequel. #melodicmay

It's finally sunny here and I'm enjoying starting a new book while (sort of) watching my daughter's soccer game.
Jill Cafferty is the first woman to be drafted into the major leagues. She'll have to leave home just days after HS graduation, to face intense scrutiny not just from her teammates, but from the world. It's just making history... NO PRESSURE! 😘 White writes such great characters, and excellent ensemble banter. Great for both baseball fans AND people who are sport-free (like me!) ♥️⭐️⚾️⭐️♥️
