Christmas in Camelot | Mary Pope Osborne

Mehso-so

This was a pretty good story about 2 kids who have adventures in a tree house with books. This time, they spend Christmas with Arthur and his knights. I had forgotten to put it on #SnowyDecemberReadathon

Pg 21 - Guinevere‘s fear of water

Being plunged into mortal terror every time she left or returned to the city was not good for maintaining a queenly presence.
Knowing that Merlin had placed the fear there to protect her from the vengeful Lady of the Lake made the fear less shameful, but no less terrifying. Wretched wizard. Wretched lake.
⬇️

humouress ⬆️ "My queen?" a young, eager voice asked.
Wretched Sir Gawain. Guinevere forced a pleasant expression, repenting of her mean thought.

humouress pg 147"What happened?" Lancelot demanded, staring at Isolde, who should have been sleeping as though dead at this point in their plan.
Guinevere was freezing. She shivered, trying to keep her teeth from chattering.
"Complications."
"Why are you talking like that?" Lancelot leaned close.
The night was a shield, protecting Guinevere from revealing the truth. "Smoke. Had to set the castle on fire."
"You had to *set the castle on fire*?"

Random book from our home library:

📖 The Story of the Champions of the Round Table Written and Illustrated by Howard Pyle

BooksandCoffee4Me I‘ve read many of the Arthur stories, but not Pyle‘s. It looks a bit daunting and yet, strangely compelling at the same time. 😊 8mo
bibliothecarivs @BooksandCoffee4Me , I just realised I never replied. I started it in the 8th or 9th grade but never finished it. I don't remember much about the writing but I have enjoyed Pyle's illustrations since I discovered his Robin Hood ones inside the Prince of Thieves soundtrack booklet. 🏹 4mo

Horrible cover😝This is book 2 in the Emry Merlín, a retelling. Not much to say without spoil book 1. In some parts, the story was okay, funny and the romances cute, at YA style. However, this a modality with YA trilogies, no need to have 3 books at all. There is a third book coming this year and I bet that these two last books could end the story in just one book. Why? why are they dragging the stories?🤦🏽‍♀️3⭐️and I think I‘m giving too many

Book was a gift from Adline member of #TheForgottenBookClub (July 25, 2023). She had the same impression about this book but we all are going to read book 3 anyway 🤷🏽‍♀️Such is reading life😆

I added this book to my Goodreads TBR and StoryGraph TBR because my bookish horoscope for March recommended that I read this book. It was released on March 1. On Goodreads, it has 0 reviews and 0 ratings but on StoryGraph, it has an average rating of 4.5 stars and it has 5 reviews. It sounds like a really good book. My bookish horoscope said that this is a highly anticipated sequel so why doesn‘t it have ratings or reviews on Goodreads?

I looked at my Bookish Horoscope for March from this article I found on www.penguinteen.com. I‘m a Cancer and this is the book it says I should read this month. This book sounds interesting to me. Even if I don‘t read it this month, I‘ll add it to my reading list just so I don‘t forget about it.

Pickpick

As a child, I read and loved I Am Mordred. This book only hit my radar a few years ago and I'm so glad i took the time to read it. It's another lovely, feminist Arthurian retelling.
