The Handmaid's Tale | Margaret Atwood

Second half of my #2016TopTenBooks! Featuring my favourites, All the Light We Cannot See and The Secret Life of Bees. Both utterly beautiful. The Girl Who Saved the King of Sweden was unlike anything I usually enjoy, but was so funny and clever. The Color Purple and The Handmaid's Tale are classics I think every woman should read. #HappyNewYear folks! #TopReadsof2016

I posted my #topreads2016 earlier this week (see #2016toptenbooks 😃) so I'm going to post my updated and final #yearinbooks. I read more than I thought (my goal for the year was 257 on GR) and that's largely thanks to litsy and all it's cool peeps recommending awesome new books left and right. Thanks y'all! Looking forward to more great reads and fun photo challenges in the new year! #seasonsreadings2016

queerbookreader I feel so stupid for asking but how do you get to this screen? Is it on goodreads or another platform? 🙈 7y

TrishB Double wow 😱😱 7y
Eyelit @lemonlime799 it's on Goodreads - all gr members got an email with a link to their year in books (I think it was sent out late November) 7y
ReadingOver50 @lemonlime799 in Goodreads go to My Books and at the top is a banner that says "see your year in books" You may need to be on the website for this. The app doesn't seem to have it. 7y
Eyelit Thanks @ReadingOver50 I didn't know how to access through the website itself - only knew of the email link! 😃 7y

@Pinkmeghan started this tag and I love it. I'm breaking my #2016toptenbooks into nonfiction and fiction, five for each. These are the 5 nonfiction books that resonated the most this year.

Pinkmeghan Love that idea! I read Henrietta Lacks and Bad Feminist this year too! Great choices! 7y
Bloomingjen Henrietta Lacks was an incredible story. Her cells are still being used in research. I have purchased them for my students to use. It is great to see the respect they show her. Her children came to campus and spoke about their memories of their mother. 7y
kspenmoll @Bloomingjen Heard them & Rebecca Skloot & some grandkids give a presentation- they were amazing as the story. (edited) 7y
