#12booksof2020 #day5 #5goldenrings #nonfiction #novelistichistory

Enthralled with this book and its POV from Midwestern Prof and his family when he was appointed by Roosevelt as ambassador to Germany in the 30‘s when Hitler was rising.

melissajayne I read this prior to The Splendid and the Vile and enjoyed it as well. 3y
Karkar This is one of my favorites from him. 3y

In this Lisa Kleypas series, 5 ladies each receive a golden ring. (I don‘t feel that is a spoiler. 😬) #5goldenrings

#12DaysofChristmas #5GoldenRings My thoughts went to circus rings. As a child, I was enthralled by the circus & this was one of my favorite Nancy Drew books so I'm picking Nancy for this prompt. There are no golden rings but Nancy is given a gold charm bracelet with five horse charms & the sixth is missing. We won't analyze how Nancy was a good enough rider to go undercover at a circus🙄she's just that good at everything! 🤣Love these 5 📚covers.

rubyslippersreads Great vintage covers! 😍 6y
LibrarianRyan Love it👍⭐️🎅🏻 6y

For #12daysofchristmas #5goldenrings I have chosen Scarlet O'Hara. She didn't get to five in book one. And I don't think in the sequel either. But I bet by death she did.

blithebuoyant "I can't go all my life waiting to catch you between husbands." ? One of my favorite quotes from Rhett 6y
LibrarianRyan @l.kadie 🤓🤣🤣 6y
blithebuoyant Gone With The Wind is my all time favorite single book. And none of my friends have read it so I've been unfortunately sentenced to never being able to discuss it with anyone I know lol 6y

LibrarianRyan @l.kadie lots of people here for the discussion there was even an extremely large buddy read of this title this summer. 6y
blithebuoyant Are you serious? I didn't join until last month 😭 6y
LibrarianRyan @l.kadie yep. And there is a big buddy read starting next month if your into fantasy. 6y
blithebuoyant Fantasy is my main genre! 😍 One more question and I'll leave you alone, I promise. Where do I learn about buddy reads? 6y
LibrarianRyan @l.kadie follow some big people who share a lot. Myself, @MrBook @Tiffy_Reads (who is host for tNotW I believe). Big reads are normally advertised by the host early on. Small reads are simple and shortly arranged. Like I did a lost boy read last month. Stay tuned because chapter a day reads for 2018 should be going up soon. I will be host 2. Lost of photo challenges (mine always have prizes) and contest. 👇🏻 6y
LibrarianRyan @l.kadie we try to share as much as possiable. In a few days your feeds will be filled with #secretsantagoespostal book exchanges, and #travelingbook postings. Never be afraid to ask me or anyone else a question. We are all super nice and helpful on Litsy. You have joined a wonderful community 6y
blithebuoyant Thanks so much! Will stay tuned ❤️🌹 6y
rubyslippersreads Great pick! 6y
Bookzombie Great pick! 6y
MrBook @l.kadie There was a "Gone With the Wind" buddyread earlier this year, I think. @BookBabe and I had it as one of this year's selections for one of our bookclubs. You need to move to the NYC area ??????. Thank you for the tag, @LibrarianRyan 6y
blithebuoyant @MrBook I'm from Texas! My family would disown me if I moved to NYC! 😂😂😂 6y
MrBook @l.kadie 😂 6y
TricksyTails @l.kadie Welcome to Litsy! 😁 @MinDea and I are doing the #EpicBuddyRead of #TheNameoftheWind that starts on December 10. I'll tag you in the post with the schedule so you can join in the fun! 😊 I'm also doing a huge buddy (re)read for Stephen King and Terry Pratchett starting next year. @MinDea does #LitsyBuddyRead also so you can find more info on her account or @LitsyBuddyRead @Jess7. @JenlovesJT47 is a huge Gone With the Wind fan too! 6y
JenlovesJT47 @l.kadie GWTW is my all time favorite book! The audiobook was amazing as well, the narrator is phenomenal. And of course it's one of my favorite movies ❤️ welcome to Litsy! 🤗 6y
blithebuoyant I love this community ❤️❤️❤️ 6y
blithebuoyant @JenlovesJT47 YESSS the audiobook ❤️ It's like 50 hours long, I'm always in one stage of it or another. It's my "comfort read" as they say lol 6y
JenlovesJT47 @l.kadie oh that's awesome! I think she does such a spectacular job on the narration. Do you like the sequel, Scarlett? I enjoyed it when I was younger but I haven't read it in awhile. 6y
blithebuoyant I tried to read it once, I wasn't a fan. I've read Rhett Butler's people though! 6y

Mrs. Bennett would love to have #5goldrings given to each of her five daughters. She was a mother with marriage on the mind.
