#ReadAway2024

Finished more than a week ago but I‘m behind on everything-including reviews. This was one of my #Roll100 Sept. picks, #85 “any library book.”

I enjoy Kingfisher‘s books & fairytale retellings. In this case it‘s The Goose Girl. She has such sly humor & endearing characters. Not my fave of her books I‘ve read so far (maybe the “old” 51-year-old character depressed me being written with such an elderly spin) but still a solid pick.

DebinHawaii @PuddleJumper Hah! It‘s how I felt about the 51-year-old character who was so old, so it fits! 🤣🤣🤣 1mo

My #Roll100 picks for September. I got 3 different “any” book rolls which is always fun—I‘m glad I put so many in my list!

#85 - Any library book: My ebook hold of A Sorceress Comes to Call just came in

#74 - Any audiobook: It‘s past time to listen to Dave Grohl, The Storyteller

#41 - Any book of stories: Choosing the tagged book from #BOTM because I‘ve been wanting to read it & it will complete a badge

Looks like a good month! 📚🤗

PuddleJumper ❤️❤️ Enjoy! 2mo

The second book in the Good to the Last Death series, another fun book by Peterman. More funny quips from Daisy, her friends, and her gram with a lot of ghost and immortal drama. This book gives some answers to the first book and adds new twists that pave the way for the next one! Book #85 in 2024

September #Roll100 books

I‘ve already read #85 & #74 so I went to the closest unread number to each. Thankfully I‘ve been reading Holmes with the #NoPlaceLikeHolmes group.

An epically woven story with multiple POVS and a developing plot that slowly deepens as you read. This was a dark magic, not welded by witches but by a greedy, twisted, super effed up emperor. I enjoyed the wild tales and mystical creatures. The characters were complex and the whole concept was unique, at least to me as this is far from my normal genre. (Which may be evolving as I read and enjoy more fantasy/sci-fy) Book #85 in 2023

What a l9vely collection of the Queen's most iconic looks and some of the lesser known but still fabulous ones. For a woman who was Queen for over 75 years, she absolutely knew what worked for her as far as style. #85-2022

Other reviews saying there isn‘t much “library” in this Mercenary Librarians story are accurate. The epilogue on that storyline felt like an afterthought. I wanted to like this so much more, but it felt like Trail of Lightning in a lot of ways. The focus of the book was more on Knox than Nina, and the “villain” reveal/turnaround was a let-down. And the big moment at the end? Completely predictable. Sad to say I was disappointed. #Roll100 #85

My #roll100 selections @PuddleJumper

54) Designing Your Life - I‘m glad this came up because I could use a productivity tune up.

85) The sub-in for this one is Supper Club. I‘m still reading this month‘s #85 so this will be saved for last/time allowing as I already hit the intended #85

96) Y‘all I didn‘t write the authors down when I made this list… I am assuming this is the No Exit I meant 🤣

PuddleJumper I'm using Storygraph to keep track. I can't read my own scrawl sometimes! 3y
