#ReadAway2024 #SeriesLove2024

The #ChildrensClassicRead2024 September pick & replaces The Storyteller as #74 (Any Audiobook) on my #Roll100 list because quite frankly I‘m very angry at Dave Grohl for his life choices & refuse to listen to his book right now.

But back to Anastasia Krupnik which was a delight to listen to. I was not familiar with this 1979 children‘s book & series but it‘s fun & funny & I‘ll go back & listen to the other books.

My #Roll100 picks for September. I got 3 different “any” book rolls which is always fun—I‘m glad I put so many in my list!

#85 - Any library book: My ebook hold of A Sorceress Comes to Call just came in

#74 - Any audiobook: It‘s past time to listen to Dave Grohl, The Storyteller

#41 - Any book of stories: Choosing the tagged book from #BOTM because I‘ve been wanting to read it & it will complete a badge

Looks like a good month! 📚🤗

PuddleJumper ❤️❤️ Enjoy! 3mo

September #Roll100 books

I‘ve already read #85 & #74 so I went to the closest unread number to each. Thankfully I‘ve been reading Holmes with the #NoPlaceLikeHolmes group.

“The truth is, fragile things rarely fair well in the world. More often, they farewell to it.” Another Heartland List book and I mostly enjoyed it. I don‘t think the pieces from long ago fit where they were, but this was a good story. The writing is YA, so it‘s a bit choppy and the story is step by step. Book #74 in 2024

#ReadAway2024 #SeriesLove2024

My first #Roll100 for April finished. This was #74 which I had listed as “Any Audiobook” so I was happy to choose Book 5 in the Lady Holmes series. Although Lord Ingram‘s friend Inspector Treadles has been a bit of a judgy butthead to Charlotte given her fallen woman status, when he is jailed by Scotland Yard for the murder of 2 men, she doggedly works to find the truth. This was a good installment in the series, ⬇️

DebinHawaii & I am loving the progression of the relationship of Ash & Holmes & their banter. I switched back & forth a bet between library print book & library audiobook (no library e-book was available) & while I like the audio, the plots are so intricate for the crimes that I feel I miss a little when I don‘t see it in print. But still a very solid pick. Looking forward to Book 6. If you are new to this series, start with Book 1: 7mo

The dice were good again this month. Here are my 3 #Roll100 picks for April

#100 was “Any Kindle Unlimited” on my list & I chose the tagged book which I have had “borrowed” on KU for ages but never seem to get around to reading.

#6 The Future (in my #BOTM stack)

#74 was “Any Audiobook” on my list & I went with this 5th book (& next for me) in the Lady Holmes series that my library Libby only has in audio format.

I am excited to read them!

April is nearly here! I refuse to believe it! March has been really busy for me so no pretty dice this month, just rolls from my lost in fey elf that doesn‘t like undead and is the tallest one in the group.

Here are the picks for April #roll100

Roll 1 = 100

Roll 2 = 6

Roll 3 = 74

Morr_Books I literally just started one of the #Roll100 March books, so hopefully it'll be a quick and enjoyable read, so I can get to the April picks 😀 8mo
Allylu I‘ve got three great books for April: #100 The Lives of Puppets by T. J. Klune; #6 All of Us Villians by Amanda Frody; and #74 Happiness Falls by Angie Kim!! Yay! 8mo
Ruthiella Awesome! So far I‘ve managed to read all the picks in previous months. Hoping I can keep it up. 🤞 8mo
Kenyazero Sweet! Pretty sure I forgot to do March and maybe even February, so I'll definitely do April! 8mo
TheAromaofBooks Hmmm two of my picks have the word “Phantom“ in the title?? Feels random 😂 An old horse story called The Phantom Roan, and the children's classic, The Phantom Tollbooth. 8mo

Mehso-so

I tried really hard to like this book, but Carver is such a self absorbed, moron of a character. He‘s 38 and so selfishly wrapped up in his own head that he projects his fears and feelings onto everyone around him. His reaction to his mothers confession (I saw her coming from the get-go) solidified my disdain for him. What a schmuck. The ending was somewhat redeeming, but I haven‘t read a more unlikable character in a long time. Book #74 in 2023

Not what I was expecting, much better! I enjoyed the character development so much, I felt like I knew each of them so well. Erin infuriated me so much, she didn‘t take nearly enough responsibility for her part in the fall!!!
