“We have to boil that first! she said. “What do you mean? Why do you have to boil it?“ he asked. “Because,“ Buzz told him. “You just drank water off the bottom of a giant bat toilet. That's why!”

Book 3 of 2025. Four stars for the story, which follows two boys growing up in an isolated tribe in the Amazon. The only thing I didn‘t like, explained in the author‘s note, is that almost everything in the story is made up - the tribe isn‘t real, some of the plants and animals named aren‘t real, and most of the language the “Takunami” tribe uses is made up. The story is based on an idea about unknown tribes in the jungle. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hey #BobWhiteBuddies !!! Quick question - do we want to skip December and pick up in January with The Happy Valley Mystery, or are we good to read Happy Valley in December? I'm fine either way, but I know this time of year can get overwhelming, so just let me know what you think!!

3✨ As the last book in the series I don‘t want to say much about what is happening in this book. As a series it was funny, each book featured one of the agents and it all wrapped up nicely by the end of this book. #SeriesLove #TeamFlurken #HauntedShelves

When I read this book last week, I had no idea that my hometown was going to face the ravages of a hurricane. Please remember Western North Carolina in your prayers as so many have lost loved ones, their homes, businesses, and cars. Many are still without power, water, internet or cell service ( myself included, I'm currently tethered to my mom's iPad) due to catastrophic flooding. I thank God my family and I are safe.
I‘ve always thought of Cussler‘s novels as inherently “Dad books” but I am also always up for nautical adventures, which many of his covers seem to promise. This first in the #FargoAdventuresSeries has been on my TBR for ages, and I decided to dive in finally. While it‘s certainly nonstop action for the married treasure hunter couple, I wanted a bit more character development to help balance things out. The historical puzzles are fun though!

DOWNRIVER by Will Hobbs: “an action-packed story of a wilderness trip which leads a group of teenagers to learn about nature, survival, and themselves.“
It's about a group of troubled teens rafting down the Colorado River and camping at spots as they continue their journey. My students loved this book, even more so because we lived in AZ! 🏞️
Thirteen-year-old Nikki Roberts hears a distress call on CB radio from 2 young children, 1 injured, who are stuck in a forest fire. With the added annoyance of poachers who also try to trap Nikki and her horse, can Nikki get them all to safety?
