Cinfhen Of course, you do❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️ @LeahBergen 😘😘 6y
iread2much I was curious about this series after the movie was tending on Twitter. My grandma loved it, but I haven‘t read it. 6y
CrowCAH @LeahBergen wow great collection! I‘m still making my way through the series! 6y
CrowCAH @iread2much definitely great historical reads about the British Navy in the early 1800s! 6y

This book fits the prompt but it is the WORST and you should avoid it. I can‘t remember who recommended it to me but I‘m never listening to her again. 😂 #alltheyoungdudes #marchintothe70s

Lizpixie I wouldn‘t either!🤢 6y

Day 6: #alltheyoungdudes #marchintothe70s

"Within the diamond haze of the beach something dark was fumbling along....Then the creature stepped from mirage on to the clear sand, and they saw that the darkness was not all shadows but mostly clothing. The creature was a party of boys, marching approximately in step in two parallel lines and dressed in strangely eccentric clothing."

#AllTheYoungDudes

Jo‘s Boys is the third book in the March family trilogy and picks up ten years after the events of Little Men.

I‘ve yet to read this one but look at the cute endpapers. 😄

Blaire I read this one as a kid. I loved everything Jo. 6y
Lcsmcat Cool. What edition is that? 6y
DivineDiana The whimsical endpapers make me want to know more about every character! 6y
LauraBeth 😍😍 6y
rubyslippersreads 😍😍😍 I read this one when I was a kid, but it‘s not a reread for me like Little Women and Eight Cousins. 6y
LeahBergen @Blaire I‘m surprised I never did as I was a huge Jo fan, too. 🤔 6y
LeahBergen @Lcsmcat 1957 Rainbow Classics series by World Publishing Co. Those candy colours sure scream “1950s”, don‘t they? 😄 6y
LeahBergen @rubyslippersreads I also still need to read An Old-Fashioned Girl 😮(well, when I find a nice edition, that is). 6y
Aimeesue Ha! I was betting it was a ‘50s edition just from the endpapers. Snazzy! 6y
Lcsmcat @LeahBergen They do! Mine is from the war years (it was my mother‘s) so it has no illustrations. 6y
GatheringBooks oooh! this is nice! 6y
Cinfhen Those end papers are fabulous 6y
batsy So cute! 6y

#AllTheYoungDudes

Some of my favourite trilogies that feature young heroes / heroines, although I know many were unhappy how the Divergent Trilogy ended.
#MarchIntoThe70s

EadieB Never read this trilogy. Not sure I would like it. (edited) 6y
Andrew65 @EadieB It‘s a great trilogy and wonderful audiobooks too. Todd and Viola! 😍 6y
EadieB @Andrew65 I would probably do audio 6y

Cinfhen I haven‘t really found any fiction that I enjoy on audio. Maybe mindless YA fantasy will be the answer...or maybe not 😉 6y
Andrew65 @Cinfhen I find some books work, some don‘t. It allows me to engage in reading during the daily commute and travelling. 6y
Cinfhen I agree!! Audio is an awesome way to fill empty hours but I‘m still struggling to find the right fiction that holds my attention. I‘m thinking of trying this book 6y
Lizpixie I‘ve heard the audio of Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo is really good. @Cinfhen 6y
Cinfhen Thanks for the recommendation @Lizpixie but I‘ve actually read that book already! Any other suggestions??? 6y
Lizpixie @Cinfhen I highly recommend As You Wish by Carey Ewles, Not My Fathers Son by Alan Cummings, Carrie by Stephen King, The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty, any of Kate Morton‘s books, Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer & any Dame Agatha audiobooks, especially the ones narrated by David Suchet! 6y
Cinfhen Why thank you so much @Lizpixie I recently listened to Alan Cummings!!!! Sooooooo good 6y
Lizpixie @Cinfhen no worries lovely! I have more but I wasn‘t sure that you like the genre(fantasy/sci-fi) 6y
Andrew65 @Lizpixie The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo was good as an audiobook. Other good ones for me were The Help, The Outlander Series, 11.22.63, The Hunger Games, The Century Trilogy - Ken Follett, Tony Hill / Carol Jordan Series-Val McDermid, David Baldacci‘s Books, The Forgotten Legion Trilogy by Ben Kane, The Light Between Oceans, Roy Grace Series by Peter James, Assassin‘s Apprentice - Robin Hobbs I tend to prefer historical fiction as audiobooks. 6y
Cinfhen Thanks so much for all the recs, Andrew😃 6y
Andrew65 @Cinfhen I‘m sure others will come to my mind at some point. Will let you know. 6y
Andrew65 @Cinfhen A good way for you to do those BIG books that interest you so much. 😂 6y
Cinfhen Yeah, I was just thinking, no way I‘m listening to 32 hours of audio😬 6y
Andrew65 @Cinfhen Some of them are close to 50 hours, e.g. Outlander 🙄😳 6y
Cinfhen #Sorry, but I‘m a #LimitedListener 😊😊anything over 12 hours and I tune out 😜 6y
Andrew65 @Cinfhen I tend to like them that same length unless it is a fabulous book. 6y
Tove_Reads @Cinfhen Has to be less than 10 hours for me. Cosy mysteries work well! Also letters from skye, which I might not has enjoyed as a book. 6y

(Day 6 - #AlltheYoungDudes)

Young dudes makes me think of young Turks...thus, represented above are (from the top, clockwise) 1) Hippies; 2) Young Turks; 3) Black Panthers; 4) Anarchists.

Cinfhen Interesting interpretation ~ I love seeing all the original and creative ideas 💚 6y
Lizpixie Great interpretation👍 6y
gradcat I know it‘s kind of “out there,” and pretty much all men, but I‘m kind of going with what the titles evoke in me, if you know what I mean. As always, thanks very much for the comments! ❤️ 6y

I've used this book before but as im still bouncing about an exciting win 2 wks ago against England and wondering if a grand slam is a possibility it is as good excuse as any to post a chapter from this history of the wales rugby team of the 1970's. Definitely a favourite.

CarolynM Good luck to you! It would be great to see a Welsh Grand Slam🙂 6y
Lizpixie Good luck! 🍀 6y
