#1993. Through several moves, many of my childhood books were lost. This one is special. This one has my deceased grandma's handwriting in it wishing me "Merry Christmas". I treasure it. ❤️ This lady bought me chapter books before I could read. She challenged my reading and I wouldn't be the reader I am without her influence.

With a family of readers and hand-me-downs, ownership of childhood books is a hotly contested issue among my siblings. To keep the peace, my parents have held on to most of them. This one however, is a favorite and one I absconded with years ago and it's probably the #bookyouveownedthelongest. A wonderful collection of fairytales with the most lovely illustrations, I remember sitting in my room and reading this book again and again ❤ #riotgrams

Magician I was given by the mother of my then boyfriend after I'd borrowed it more than twice to read (it's signed!) The TommyKnockers I was given by my sister & Lord Fouls Bane by my brother. All three are at least 30 years old. They've survived moves, floods, baking heat & dogs.
