Can't say this will win over the haters, only that it was among the first classics I really enjoyed, certainly the first to encourage me to actively seek them out.

I love this Christmas classic & read it every year. I've taken part in a live dramatic reading of it one year. I read the parts of Little Fan, Belle, a Cratchett daughter, and Fred's wife. #ClassicsForClassicsHaters #FallIntoBooks @RealLifeReading
Satire, parody, slapstick. There's a little bit of all kinds of comedy in this book. #classicsforclassicshaters #fallintobooks

I read Frankenstein years ago, more because l though that, being a fantasy lover, l should read such classic. I ended up truly enjoying it. I found it so modern and so relatable, more complex than we normally think.

#FallIntoReading - Day 14 - #ClassicsForClassicsHaters : #TheHandmaidsTale by #MargaretAtwood (sort of a classic - definitely iconic 🤷🏻♀️) 💕 This is a #dystopian novel set in a near-future, in a #totalitarian, Christian theonomy that has overthrown the US govt. The novel explores themes of #women in #subjugation and the means by which they gain individualism and independence. #TBR | Also pictured is my #ReadingLight for Day 14 of #AutumnReads
It's probably a pretty obvious one but I will always recommend this #classicsforclassicshaters. #fallintobooks
The book that made this classic hater into a classics lover was Jane Eyre by Charolette Bronte when I was 20! I also included Rebecca which is on my #tbr #classicsforclassicshaters #fallintobooks
The place to start in #classicsforclassicshaters is probably children's lit (Wind in the Willows/The Secret Garden/Peter Pan). If what you want is a gripping story, try East of Eden or The Master and Margarita. Looking for a mind trip? Go w/ A Clockwork Orange. An adventure? The Hobbit. Beautifully rendered stories w/ characters you can connect to? Pick up Elizabeth Bowen's works (on which I wrote my thesis). Have fun! #fallintobooks
