TIL that my hometown was “born” on a Leap Day. So, even though Worcester is technically 176 years old, it‘s actually only 43. That must be why everyone I know from home looks younger than their years (myself included 💁♀️).
I also learned that years divisible by 100 but not 400 are skipped (to make up for decimals of time).
AND that (unlike frogs) toads don‘t have webbed feet. Just FYI. 🐸😅

pickWas there ever a book that so clearly could be defined as halcyon? Just quaint, sweet, country vintage vibes and these two loveable amphibians.
pickTo no one's surprise, this Frog and Toad book was also utterly charming. Such a wholesome reading experience with lovely art.
pickFriends...and possibly gay couple? There's certainly journalism/scholarship around it. I support the subtext! It just makes their adventures more charming. Love the simple silly moments, the lovely art style. Had no idea I started reading this series out of order. Definitely going to keep going!
pick4 ⭐ beginning, chapter book. It has a few words and big lines for those that are past Dick and Jane, but not quite to Mary Pope Osborne. Frog and Toad have lasted for decades for a reason. Their stories are about friendships and hope in sunny days. The book I was reading is older than I am, and yet it still has steam power in today‘s very full book globe. I love Frog and Toad and kids will continue to love frog and toad well into the future.
