This book... I cried like a baby... The story of Mariam and Laila brought together by war, loss, and fate in Kabul. The things they had to endure and do in order to survive and protect their family was powerful and heart-wrenching... 💔💔

I purposely avoid books and movies that I know will end up with me in a puddle of tears bc I‘m way too emotional. Plus I feel like there is enough heartbreak and sadness in real life- so I really had to think hard for this one.
Man, this book. Man, this movie. Sigh.... all the tears. My heart hurts just thinking about it!

Lreads I'm the same! I prefer to read or watch comedies or fantastical things. Some people might say I'm avoiding emotions but it's the opposite: I feel too much and it's exhausting! 💙 5y
