Conversations with Octavia Butler | Octavia E. Butler, Conseula Francis

@broughtyoubooks This is the one - I got a paperback version for about $40 CAD a bunch of years ago.
If you read too many at once it ruins the impact, so I found reading one interview every week or two was perfect for me to spread it out and fully digest each one.

broughtyoubooks Thank you! 1d

Shakespeare: The Man Who Pays the Rent | Judi Dench, Brendan O'Hea

This was such a delightful book! I have never been that curious about Shakespeare‘s plays, but hearing Judi Dench talk about her experience playing different characters was a treat.

Loved the banter between Judi and Brendan, it was very entertaining.

If you are a fan of Shakespeare, Judi Dench or if you are just curious about his work (like I was), read this!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

17-9 Oct 24 (audiobook)
Wonderful series of interviews between Cave and an Irish journalist/friend that took place over the COVID years.
They do discuss Nick‘s influences, music and his formative years in Australia, but mostly the discussion relates to his spiritual and religious views, work ethic and the grief experienced in the aftermath of the death of Arthur and, to a lesser extent, his mother and Anita Lane.
Very thought-provoking.

This was a complete delight. Highly recommended if you are interested in Dame Judi, Shakespeare, theatre history, the RSC, or acting in general. I googled so many pictures and fell down so many Wiki holes, looking up people and productions she talks about.

Bookberry This sounds wonderful! I'll check it out. I'm a big fan of Dame Judi. 2mo
