Finally getting around reading this book, heard many good things about it. I am I late to the train 🚂?
So far half into the book, and the characters seem a bit bland to me i don‘t know if I don‘t get them.

Tender Is the Flesh | Agustina Bazterrica

Pickpick

For some reason I thought that Tender is the Flesh would be the perfect read for our boat tour along the Western Coast of Corfú. This book is horrifying and disturbing, and yet it felt so real. Considering the events of the last two years, the plot doesn‘t seem crazy at all, but rather very realistic…

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

JillR I just finished this book and totally agree. Whilst it‘s portrayed as a dystopian future, this really didn‘t feel beyond the realms of possibility to me at all. Disturbing but v clever… 2y
thewallflower0707 @JillR yup, I can totally imagine that around 50% of our world population would rather eat humans than give up on meat… 2y

5 ⭐️

Every detail in this book was amazing. It hooked me from the first page. It wasn‘t a high fantasy novel. But I love a set up where the character is an underdog and eventually becomes the Hero. Fitz‘s story from his childhood has been told so beautifully by Hobb, it‘s like reading an autobiography. A fine balance between fine writing and an entertaining story!

I loved this book! Eden Robinson‘s way with dialogue had me chuckling even when situations in the book were definitely not amusing. There was humour, there was depth to the characters, there was all the feels. #readthenorth #gillarprizefinalst #favourite #octoberread

I enjoyed this medieval romance. And I really enjoy the narrator, Nicholas Boulton! Unlikable heroines are hard, but I liked Melanthe. I like that in this book it wasn‘t a tortured hero but a deeply damaged heroine that had to find her way. And it was dark, and I enjoyed that too! #medievalromance #octoberread

Christy2318 I love Kinsale and this one was really good. I wish she would start writing again. 5y
