Very dark and atmospheric, and not what I was expecting at all. This is no psychological thriller, as the (lazily designed) cover and title made me think.... This is a character study...a survivor story...a story of what comes after unthinkable trauma. The writing is great, blunt and unsettling. Recommended, but just know what to expect.

To buy or not to buy this one? This WAS the question, then I found it in the bookshelf in the living room 🤣😅
The books here aren't mine and the cabinet is too high for me so I don't always look up on those books 😅😅
Today I did it because I was wondering which King's novel my mom have and I find this... money saved 🤩🤑💰 🤣

I don't like the cover, but I don't mind 🤣🤣

MrT Agreed. Cover is awful. I can‘t really remember much about this SK as read so long ago, and there is a sequel - Black House. 4y

Mistress of Rome | Kate Quinn

Well, without the NFL having a late game tonight it looks like it's going to be book and a beer. Going to get started on the tagged book and I'm very excited. I never read books based in Ancient Rome but as a child I was fascinated by both Ancient Rome and Ancient Greece. I enjoyed The Alice Network so hopefully this book is good as well!

Side note: I really don't like this cover!
