CatLass007 I enjoyed the first book in the series. I haven‘t read this one yet but I think I‘ll continue to listen to the series. It would be great if it‘s available via Libby and I don‘t have to spend money I don‘t have. 8mo

CatLass007 Another mystery series with a female investigator and which takes place in the Victorian era is by Laura Joh Rowland. The first book in the series is The Ripper‘s Shadow. We read it for #WhodunitTheSequel and I was a little skeptical, but it was good. I‘m getting ready to listen to the 6th book in the series. There are only seven books so far, but here‘s hoping. The Wrexford and Sloane mysteries by Andrea Penrose are another good series. 8mo

Mr. Monster | Dan Wells

I read the first book in this series several years ago as part of #whodunitthesequel. I was wondering what the next steps would be for John Wayne Cleaver, especially considering that his mother now knows what he‘s capable of doing. I‘m about halfway through this library book and I‘m trying to decide if I want to continue. John does something that is usually a full on stop for me. Maybe I‘ll read some more Dexter instead.

I read this book five years ago as part of #whodunitthesequel. I‘m listening almost exclusively to audiobooks now and the first and second books of the series currently are free with membership on Audible. When I decided to listen to listen to this book, I couldn‘t remember a thing I‘d read, which is pretty unusual for me. I found my Litsy post from five years ago and I liked the book. CatLass007 Listening to it now is as if I‘d never read it at all. It‘s kinda nice. And kinda scary. My mom had Alzheimer‘s and that‘s how she was with her favorite TV show, NCIS. No matter how many times we watched the series, every episode was a new one for her. Anyway, I‘ve missed being active in this wonderful community, and I‘m going to try to do better. 2y

CatLass007 @Librarybelle Thank you! I was super active for a while and then things kind of went out of control because I moved three times in 2020. You‘d think that I would have been active during the lockdown, but I wasn‘t. I‘m going to make every effort to get back in the swing of things. 2y

CatLass007 @robinb I actually remember that we were in the same whodunit group. And thank you for choosing us this book. I can‘t believe it took 3 or 4 years for you to get the book back! I know there were a lot of hiccups that caused the whodunit group to take longer than expected to wrap things up. 2y

Murder on the Eiffel Tower: A Victor Legris Mystery | Claude Izner

so-so

I read this first in series in my #LMPBC GroupM for Round 9. I had read number 6 in #whodunitthesequel and was glad to go back to the beginning with this one. Unfortunately neither book did much for me. While the mystery was good, I didn‘t really care for the characters, and the writing didn‘t flow smoothly, with some abrupt changes in place/narrative (which could have been due to translation issues). 3/5⭐️
