This is a fun mystery with delightfully quirky characters and found family. I love the format with short chapters from each character‘s POV. The short chapters make for a quicker read, and the multiple POVs bring the characters closer to the reader. The solution was fun, too. Out today (8/19). Just a day late for the #NGG #readathon.

AllDebooks Still counts. 😀 4w

Better late than never! My weekend goals for the #NetGalley #Readathon #NGG .

I will probably not make it to actually completing a book this weekend, but my account and pending reviews definitely need a thorough examination and update. I think I owe at least 4 reviews to NetGalley of books I completed the last few months, but I always find others that I read and forgot I also got from NetGalley (I have way too many books to read in my account).

AllDebooks Great goals. Good luck. x 1mo

Bookwormjillk Hello! I got approved for a couple of cookbooks recently that I want to read and review this weekend. 1mo
See All 16 Comments
AllDebooks @Bookwormjillk that's great! Are you going to try out some of the recipes? 1mo
Zuhkeeyah I have a cute romance I want to read this weekend 1mo
Bookwormjillk @AllDebooks If my sink gets fixed tomorrow yes I will! If not I will just keep dreaming :) 1mo
ShananigansReads I am exhausted. Had my biggest day of the school year yesterday and it took the wind out of me. I‘m currently reading Deep End by Ali Hazelwood. I hope to read my ARCs of Jilted by Vi Keeland and/or Mean Moms by Emma Rosenblum this weekend while I let my body rest and mentally prepare for the kids coming back next week. 1mo
IriDas I didn‘t think I‘d have time to do this but I have to take the train to my mom‘s tomorrow. Six hour round trip, so I will have time at least then. I also have Monday off work. :) I hope to finish two of my current reads this weekend. A Wizard of Earthsea and The Betrayal. And get closer to the end with Mapping the Deep. If I drag my kids into it we‘ll work on Impossible Creatures. 1mo
DGRachel This is apparently my week (or month or year or…) of forgetting all the things, like this being challenge weekend. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I have a ton of things I‘m behind on reading (technically due today and tomorrow) but I did manage to clear one NetGalley book and my LibraryThing Early Reviewer book off my list this week and as far as NetGalley goes, I have one that publishes on Tuesday that I would to read this weekend. That one is my goal. 1mo
Bookish_Thoughts No time today because we babysat grandkids. Then I found out this evening we may be hiking tomorrow. SO…if I can I will either start Where Dark Things Rise, or one of 3 being published on Oct. 28th. I *should* start Where Dark Things Rise, but the other three are *really* calling my name. 😁 🤔 1mo
AllDebooks @ShananigansReads Wishing you a peaceful, restful weekend. X 1mo
AllDebooks @IriDas that's a lot of travelling time. Safe travels. X 1mo
AllDebooks @DGRachel Sounds good. X 1mo
AllDebooks @Bookish_Thoughts isn't that always the way. I'm always afflicted by tbr-itis. 1mo
ShananigansReads @AllDebooks thank you. I ran errands early this morning so I can mostly lay around the house the rest is the weekend. Still listening to The Deep 3 hours left 4w

#NetGalleyGroup #NGG

It's our last day for July's #readathon 📚

How did you do?
Did you meet your goals?
Did the readathon help give you a nudge?

I've enjoyed hosting it. It's certainly helped give me a kickstart back into Netgalley life. I've enjoyed reading your comments and posts.

See you on 15th August for another round of #ARCs 😀

All welcome to join us. Please let me know if you wish to be added/removed from the taglist.

DGRachel Umm…I read about 30 pages or so of the ARC I‘d planned to finish. It‘s just not holding my attention and I switched over to a nearly 400 page ebook that returns to the library in 3 days. There‘s always next weekend, right? 😂 2mo
See All 20 Comments
Librarybelle I did complete my #ALC (it‘s published tomorrow, so I‘ll post my review then). I did not start my #ARC , but I think I‘ll have a better plan going into the August reading…more specific goals and such. Thanks for bringing this back! 2mo
AllDebooks @DGRachel Well, 30 pages is better than nothing. I get why you would prioritise the library book. Thank you for joining in. 😀 2mo
AllDebooks @Librarybelle Yay, well done. 👏 I really needed spurring on, and it's always better to have company. 😀 2mo
AllDebooks I've 100 pages left of The Tesla Files. I could not stop reading! I'll start my fiction tonight. Of my 10 reviews, I've completed 5. I just need to post them now. 2mo
sebrittainclark I completed one of the ARCs I was reading, and caught up on the 4 reviews I needed to write. 2mo
Deblovestoread I didn‘t finish but did make progress. 2mo
AllDebooks @sebrittainclark That's great. Well done. 🙌 2mo
AllDebooks @Deblovestoread it all counts. 🙌 2mo
Bookish_Thoughts DNF‘ed one book, finished another, and caught up on reviews, so yay me. 🙂 This was fun! Thanks for hosting. 2mo
PuddleJumper Actually read an eARC today. It was fun but I was reading the Kindle version and it would randomly start a new line mid-word. It was so annoying! Seems to be a common issue when reading NetGalley books on Kindle 2mo
AllDebooks @Bookish_Thoughts that's great. Well done. 👏 2mo
AllDebooks @PuddleJumper I've never tried them on my Kindle as I've heard its problematic. Well done on finishing one. 👏 2mo
tpixie I‘ve failed so far… I‘ll have more time in 2026* to read, though. @AllDebooks (edited) 2mo
AllDebooks @tpixie you haven't failed, you were only considering joining. I can take you off the taglist, if you prefer. 2mo
tpixie @AllDebooks yes, let‘s do that. I may try next year! 2mo

Let's share our recent #ARCs or #ALCs that we've enjoyed the most in 2025.
📚 What did you enjoy most about it?
📚 Is the author new to you?
📚 Would you read more by the author?

All welcome to join us. Please let me know if you wish to be added/removed from the taglist.

BookmarkTavern I really enjoyed this mystery novel! 2mo
AllDebooks @BookmarkTavern I like the look of this 2mo
AllDebooks I really enjoyed Michelle Paver's new novel. A ghost story set in the rainforest of South America. One for #NaturaLitsy 2mo
See All 15 Comments
Librarybelle My favorite #ALC is this one, a top so far for 2025: 2mo
Librarybelle As for an #ARC , this was an enjoyable read, since I‘m about all things The Golden Girls: 2mo
DGRachel My fav ARC read of the year is a Romantasy debut with sirens, so it has a bit of a dark, Hans Christian Andersen Little Mermaid vibe. 2mo
DGRachel @Librarybelle I have Murder by Cheesecake on my shelf to read. It sounds delightful! 2mo
DGRachel @BookmarkTavern I will have to look for that one. It sounds like it has all of my favorite mystery novel elements 😱 2mo
Bookish_Thoughts So far my favorite #ARC is The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones. I‘ve read a lot of his work, but not all of it. (edited) 2mo
sebrittainclark My favorite I read in the last month was Automatic Noodle by Annalee Newitz, which is a cozy sci-fi novella about robots opening a restaurant. I've had Future of Another Timeline on my TBR for a while, but this was the first time I read one of their books, and I'll definitely read more. 2mo
AllDebooks @Bookish_Thoughts he is very good. I'm looking forward to reading this one. 2mo
AllDebooks @sebrittainclark lol, I love the title, and the plot sounds cute. ❤️ 2mo
AllDebooks @Librarybelle both of those look good. Golden girls cozy mystery is a genius idea. 2mo
AllDebooks @DGRachel that looks so good. 2mo
PuddleJumper I just got approved for the second in the Hollow and the Haunted duology - The Forsaken and the Fated, so would recommend that (😅) and the first in the series 2mo

Let us know what #ARC you're reading for the #readathon.
📚 Are you enjoying it?
📚 Would you recommend it?

AllDebooks I'm reading an investigative journalism expose of Tesla and Musk. It's so gripping, I can't put it down. Available in Read Now section. 2mo
Librarybelle I‘m listening to my ALC, Greenwich by Kate Broad, and I plan to pick out my ARC today! 2mo
See All 18 Comments
Amor4Libros I started First Time, Long Time by Amy Silverberg. I have about 8 other ARCs going 🤣🤣, but I‘m challenging myself to finish this one by Tue (pub date). 2mo
DGRachel I started Beasts of Carnaval by Rosalia Rodrigo. I‘m not not enjoying it, but I‘m struggling to find anything that holds my attention. Outside thoughts keep creeping into my brain and distracting me from the story. 😭 2mo
Chrissyreadit @AllDebooks 💙💙💙💙💙 2mo
sebrittainclark I just started Awakened by Laura Elliot. She's a new to me author, and I'm intrigued by the concept so far. I haven't read much dystopian fiction in years, but I've read quite a few this year and am enjoying the genre. 2mo
Deblovestoread I‘m reading The Girls Who Grew Big. I like it but am in a bit of a slump so it‘s getting read in short spurts. I loved her debut 2mo
AllDebooks @Librarybelle ❤️🙌❤️ 2mo
AllDebooks @Amor4Libros 8 arcs!!! Blimey, you have your hands full. 2mo
AllDebooks @DGRachel Oh no, intrusive thoughts are a pain in the ass. Have you tried some centering techniques or relaxation exercises? I found that I did better with audiobooks when stress or anxiety levels are high. 2mo
AllDebooks @sebrittainclark 👀 Ooooh, that sounds so good. Stacked! 📚 2mo
AllDebooks @Deblovestoread another one stacked! 📚😅 2mo
DGRachel @AllDebooks I have a whole arsenal of mindfulness techniques but things are so bad right now that I don‘t even have the energy to implement any of them. It will pass. I usually rely on audiobooks at times like these, too, but they‘re even harder for me to get into right now. 🤷🏻‍♀️A local indie bookseller always gives me great recs for books that shut out the world, and she was working today, so pause on the ARC while I fall into another book. 2mo
AllDebooks @DGRachel I'm so sorry you're having a tough time. Sending hugs. xx 🫂 2mo
Bookish_Thoughts I‘m struggling with The Marigold Cottages Murder Collective. It‘s not holding my attention very well. I‘d forgotten I‘d started before and then forgot about it. 😬 2mo
Bookish_Thoughts I picked it up last night, saw I was less than 40% into it, and bailed. #Hailthebail indeed. 2mo

Hi 👋

Welcome to our first #NetGalleyGroup monthly #readathon 😊 over the next 4 days.

📚 Set your goals.
📚 Introduce yourself to the group.
📚 What are you hoping to achieve over the readathons?
📚 Share your tips or advice for using Netgalley.

I'm excited to get going on my #ARC tbr list and tackle my backlog of reviews. 🙈
All are welcome to join in. Please let me know if you wish to be added/removed from the taglist.

AllDebooks Please note that I won't tag everyone in the following days' posts. I don't want to get on your nerves. 🙈 Check for #NetGalleyGroup tag for my posts and to support and encourage each other. 😊 2mo

Bookwormjillk My goal is to read and review one ARC per month. I think this month I might tackle something from my Library Thing Early Reviewers list since I‘m pretty far behind there. Hopefully that counts! 2mo
AllDebooks @Bookwormjillk If it's an ARC, it counts. Good luck. 😀 2mo
Amor4Libros This looks fun! I would like to be added to the tag, please 😊 2mo
AllDebooks @Amor4Libros Done! Welcome to #NGG 😊 Here's a link to the post with the dates for the rest of the year. https://litsy.com/p/WVFZdzVCWm4w 2mo
AllDebooks 👋 I'm Debs and I'm looking forward to hosting our readathons. I read everything, so I'm excited to see your goals. I'll probably extend my tbr tenfold, but that's what we're here for, right? I posted my goals separately https://litsy.com/p/S3BrRlBCOUJI 2mo
Librarybelle Yay! I think I will finish my current audiobook, which is an ALC from NetGalley. I would also like to read one book this weekend from my massive queue. I‘m setting low goals this time, since I seem to be far behind everything else. Thanks for hosting this again! As for tips, don‘t be afraid to request a title, even if you‘ve been rejected in the past…you never know when you will be granted access! 2mo
AllDebooks @Librarybelle Good luck with your goal. 😊 I thought a monthly event might help clear those backlogs. Little and often is the way. That's a great tip! You never know. 🤞 2mo
DGRachel I keep up with reviewing as I read, but I‘m so far behind on actually reading. My goal for the rest of the year is to read my current list before the publication dates. I can‘t even think about the backlog right now. 😂 For this month, I have 2 books that publish on the 29th. I hope to get through both this weekend. Thanks for the nudge! 2mo
rubyslippersreads I‘m terrible about reviewing, so my goal is to review at least three books (I‘ve read two and am close to finishing the third). 2mo
sebrittainclark My goal for the year is to end with a higher ratio than I started with. I've been holding steady basically all year, but I'm hoping to raise it a bit more this summer to give myself a better shot at my goal, since I tend to drop my ratio at lot at the end of the year 2mo
Bookish_Thoughts I‘m usually pretty good about keeping up, but not this summer. (For good reasons! Well, except the “got sick” one). I have several reviews to write. I use the “lists” feature on NetGalley. One is organized by “pub date.” Once reviewed, I delete it from the list. It‘s good to see it shrink. If I missed posting a review by pub date, I move it to my “past due” list and focus on the “pub date” list. Books deleted from my lists remain on the original. (edited) 2mo
AllDebooks @DGRachel Yay, glad to have you join us. Good luck with your chosen reads. 😊 2mo
AllDebooks @rubyslippersreads I find it hard to keep up, too. Good luck finishing your 3rd book. 😊 2mo
AllDebooks @sebrittainclark That would be progress! Good luck increasing your ratio. 😊 2mo
AllDebooks @Bookish_Thoughts That's a great habit to get into. Thanks for the tip. 😊 2mo
BookmarkTavern I‘d love to join in! 2mo
AllDebooks @BookmarkTavern Great, thanks for joining us. Here's a link to the monthly dates 😊 https://litsy.com/p/WVFZdzVCWm4w 2mo
DGRachel @Bookish_Thoughts I didn‘t know there was a list feature on NetGalley! I keep a spreadsheet but I love how you track your ARCs!! 2mo
PuddleJumper I just started Blood Over Bright Haven so no ARCs this weekend 😅 I'd like to read one a month going forward, I'm just not in the mood for a lot of them and I want to give them a fair chance. 2mo
AllDebooks @PuddleJumper I think that's a good plan. 👍 2mo
