I'm ready for the July meeting of Romance Book Club.
This was a historical romance with a murder mystery thrown in!
If Lord Ian MacKenzie were alive today, he'd be labeled autistic - not "mad."
I liked this ?

•my friend let me barrow this in 2021 now it‘s 2024 I finally read it oops he can have it back now . I promise it‘s all in good shape .
I read this so long ago, I need to revisit it! An endearing story of a girl with Asperger's and an obsession with homonyms searches for her lost dog in a storm.

Couldn‘t find this in the kindle library, so I used the tagged which I‘ve also read and enjoyed.
Kindle single from years ago, nonfiction, about Mark Haddon‘s fears of swimming and flying and overcoming them, interspersed with poetry and anecdotes about teaching creative writing. Really interesting collection of stories woven into one narrative and gave me a lot to think about.
One of my closest friends has been begging me to read this book for a long while, and now I‘m finally doing it. I‘m only a couple chapters in, but man… this book is for everyone. Honestly I think this is a good book for anyone to read, regardless of their opinions on Christianity, because it offers a fresh and ACCURATE truth, which is that Christians, we struggle so much… this book is so relatable and just… I feel right at home reading this 😭💯
Had I known this wasn‘t the original version, I would have held out for the hardcover book. The author deemed some of the language he used in the original as making parents and teachers “uncomfortable” and watered down his writing for younger readers. Uncomfortable is a part of people‘s lives. Period.
“The world is full of obvious things which nobody by any chance ever observes.”
