Another late entry to #litsyyearbook. (I was away and then had to find my yearbook.) Graduating class of 91. My #bookishsuperlative then: most likely to spend all her money on magazines. (I LOVED magazines. I considered it a sign of the good life to have multiple subscriptions.) My #bookishsuperlative now? Most likely to remember a specific detail from a book while forgetting the plot and possibly the title.
@JacintaMCarter

LectricSheep That's so cute about the magazines! I love them too. Although I have to admit I'm kind of over my giant teetering pile of unread New Yorkers giving me 👀. 7y
LeahBergen Love it! 😂 7y
merelybookish @LectricSheep I stopped getting magazines years ago. I wasn't reading them. It makes me sad since they meant so much to me when I was younger. But reading habits change...Although I feel maybe I should support a few literary mags. And I have felt the New Yorker guilt before! 7y

LectricSheep I also feel like I should do more to support magazines. Have you seen Lapham's Quarterly? They're the magazine that has gotten me the closest to getting a new subscription over the past couple of years. Something about magazines just feels antiquated, though. 🤷🏼‍♀️ 7y
merelybookish @LectricSheep Agreed. I just feel they would pile up, unread. I haven't looked at Lapham's. I have considered Paris Review, Sun, Ploughshares, Grants, etc. 😐 7y
merelybookish @LeahBergen I somehow missed out on big hair! 7y
KVanRead @merelybookish @LectricSheep Love this! How I loved magazines. My first ever subscription was to Young Miss! I think my mom still has them.☺️ 7y
Laalaleighh Omg. @merelybookish feel you on the high school magazine addiction! @LectricSheep you too with the New Yorkers? I can feel them judging me. 7y
batsy Hahaha, love it! 7y
merelybookish @KVanRead Do you still subscribe to any magazines? 7y
merelybookish @Laalaleighh Always good to know we aren't the only ones! 7y
KVanRead No, not anymore. Like you the pressure of them piling up got to me. I was never any good at just flipping through and would try to read everything, lol. I think online articles and blog posts and social media like Litsy have taken up that space. 7y

Here's my entry into the #litsyyearbook. School photo from junior year, circa 2004. IRL I was voted "most likely to become a deejay," but the most accurate #bookishsuperlative from this era would probably be "most likely to have a locker overflowing with yaoi manga." Yes, I was one of those. ?

I'm way late to the #LitsyYearbook party, but I've had so much fun looking at all the posts that I couldn't resist joining in! Photo on left is my yearbook staff pic (I was so cool!) According to my Gr.13 (yes, we used to have that in Ontario ??back in the day) grad blurb I dreamed of one day editing GQ, but my #bookishsuperlative would have been "most likely to skip school to go to the library." @JacintaMCarter

LeahBergen 😂😂 Awesome!!! 7y
KVanRead @LeahBergen You still win.😘 7y

Love the yearbook photos that have been showing up all over @Litsy !

I was voted Most Likely to Solve World Hunger, along with my classmate Mark. My #BookishSuperlative would probably be Most Likely to Get Detention for Reading in Class (true story: this actually happened to me in high school - and it was my English class!). #samehaircut10yearslater #litsyyearbook

JacintaMCarter I got detention on two separate occasions for reading during band. In my own defense, I played the tenor sax, so my part mostly consisted of extensive measures of rests. 8y
Saknicole Omg the mole. I miss the mole. I also got in trouble for reading during class of course. 8y
Kimberlone @JacintaMCarter @Saknicole good to know I wasn't the only one! 7y

All the #litsyyearbook posts were so fun, I decided to pull out my yearbook to play, too.

Most likely to have more favorite authors than friends #bookishsuperlative

sprainedbrain Love that superlative... and I can relate. 😂 8y
LeahBergen 👏🏻👏🏻😂 8y

I'm a little late to the #litsyyearbook tag but this one was too fun to pass up. Sorry for a slightly blurry pic. I wasn't a huge fan of high school and mine was rather cliquey. My actual yearbook quote was from Can't Buy Me Love: "Cools, nerds, your side, my side, man it's all bullshit... it's just tough enough to be yourself." My #bookishsuperlative would be something like "the perceived quietest, but really anything but." Class of '95!

sprainedbrain Love this! Yay for class of 95. 😃 8y
Purrfectpages We gotta stick together @sprainedbrain lol 8y
LaraReads Aww...I love all of this! Can't Buy Me Love...sigh. They just don't make 'em like they used to! Class of '95 rules!!! 8y
Purrfectpages @LaraReads thanks! And I totally agree...with all of it! 8y

"Most likely to spend lunch in the library to avoid social interaction... and cheerleaders."

I was severely anti school spirit in high school so I never bought a yearbook, got a class ring, took senior photos, etc. but here is a pic from my Junior year I found. I had to wear a wig to school because I dyed my hair pink.
#litsyyearbook #bookishsuperlative #classof07

MayJasper Loving the wig story 😀 8y
AmandaL Same! I actually forbid my high school from using my senior photo in the year book. They put it in any way. 8y
underthebelljar Sounds similar to my high school experience 😂 I didn't go to one dance or even any assemblies. And of course I spent a lot of time in the library 😆 8y

goodbyefrancie I'm so glad to find out that other people exist who don't get the 'high school is the best time of your life' crap. I have found my tribe on #Litsy! 😉 8y
monkeygirlsmama @AmandaL OMG my high school did the same damn thing. Out of all the shots, I hated the one they were going to make me put in the yearbook. I told them just leave me blank then because I did not want this awful pic representing me in the senior yearbook. They ignored me and used it anyway. 😐 8y
MatchlessMarie @MayJasper Once I came to school without it because I didn't feel like fussing with it and just kept it in my backpack. I went half the day before I had a teacher take issue and threaten to send me home. I just said give me 5 min and I came back from the restroom with my wig on. The whole class freaked out when they realized I had been wearing a wig the whole time. 😂 7y
MatchlessMarie @goodbyefrancie @BookishJess Yep! I never went to any pep rallies. I went to 2 dances but they were both bad experiences. Still don't regret going to prom. Ironic how now that I have a little one I'm like why doesn't this school have any pride? 😜 I need to lighten up 😉 7y

"Girl most likely to be found buried under her TBR mountain"

I'm a bit late to this prompt, we don't have yearbooks in Australia but we do have school photos taken every year. This is me in Yr10 1987 with my perm & freckles. We weren't allowed to wear makeup for our photos otherwise I'd have blue eyeliner & mascara on as well!

Suet624 What a great photo! 8y
LauraBeth This is awesome! You look great! 8y
EloisaJames Omg I had that perm!! For a moment I had a jolt and thought it was me! 😘 8y

britt_brooke Love it! 8y
Lizpixie @Suet624 @LauraBeth @britt_brooke thanks! This is what I looked like when I first met the hubby. 30yrs later, not so much😋 @EloisaJames I think at least 3/4 of teenage girls had that perm in the 80s!👱🏼‍♀️ 8y
EloisaJames @Lizpixie the key is the fringe in the eyes! 8y
Lizpixie @EloisaJames yes! That's why I started wearing contacts for awhile instead of glasses. Brushing hair out from behind them all the time drove me nuts.👩🏻‍🎤 8y
ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled I desperately wanted hair like that! But I rocked the blue mascara 👊 8y
Hooked_on_books This is great! 💙 8y

Most Likely To Befriend You For Your Book Collection. So true, my 8th grade classmate had the entire Sweet Valley High series and she instantly became my best friend (she was also a pretty awesome person)! At this point in my life (senior year of high school) I was introduced to and becoming obsessed with African American authors.

Hollie I would definitely befriend someone for their book collection! 8y
