Being that my box came late this month I‘m surprised it took all day to unbox it after getting it from my mail room earlier this afternoon….

Before I know it it‘s gonna be March and we‘re gonna be picking the next round!!

😆

But it‘s my birthday on Sunday so I‘m thinking it actually ended up arriving right on time!!

Let us hope life affords me enough time to not only buy & collect these books, but also read them sometime soon!!

💙📚🔖📦

Texreader Oh happy birthday!! 🎁📚📕♥️ 1mo

Yuki_Onna It's so cute! 2mo
lil1inblue What a lovely idea! 😍 2mo
CatLass007 I don‘t knit but I have friends who read and knit with whom I will share the link. 2mo

Kitta Oh yay! That‘s great I‘ll save it to my ravelry. 2mo
Kitta Is the magic loop method hard? I usually use dpns but I don‘t have the right size right now. 2mo
MaleficentBookDragon @Kitta I cannot used DPNs. I am not coordinated enough. I used to do magic loop but I tended to get laddering. I found a great alternative. I use FlexiFlips. They are the best of both. I use them for all small circumference knitting. https://youtu.be/IgzMgqT-2Qs 2mo
Kitta @MaleficentBookDragon oooh I‘ll check those out! 2mo
MaleficentBookDragon @Kitta they are not cheap but I love them. I‘ve also used HiyaHiya Flyers. The metal ones are SHARP, if you like sharper tips. If you get them let me know if you like them. They were a game changer for me. 2mo
CatLass007 A friend of mine uses circular needles for everything. No DPNs, no regular knitting needles, whatever those are called. Just the circular ones. Which I have a hard time remembering not to say the round ones. 1mo
Kitta @MaleficentBookDragon I wonder if they come in bamboo too or would that be too flexible a material? I prefer bamboo needles generally and a blunter tip lol. My old dpns are wood but I stepped on two and broke them! 🤦🏻‍♀️ 1mo
Kitta @MaleficentBookDragon I just checked and addi makes bamboo ones! Edit: So does Hiyahiya! (edited) 1mo
MaleficentBookDragon @Kitta oh yes. I have both. Addi will be a bit blunter. It seems Hiya Hiya likes really sharp tips. I hope you like them.🤞 1mo
Kitta @MaleficentBookDragon the only sharp tips I have are my Chiaogoos and they‘re metal, which I found I didn‘t like. So slippery for what I was doing. So maybe I‘ll like sharp tips if they‘re bamboo? I‘m not sure. I‘ll probably try the addi ones first. 1mo

One Brontë was definitely not a fan of Austen

Bookwomble Based on the initial 20 pages of P&P that I was able to force myself through before I threw it down in disgust (by which I mean, carefully closed it and replaced the book gently on the shelf!), I'm in agreement with Charlotte on this one 😏 2mo
AnneCecilie @Bookwomble I‘ve read P&P 3 times, and the same goes for her other novels and am reading S&S for the 4th time now. I‘m a huge fan 2mo
Bookwomble @AnneCecilie This is why there's more than one book - we readers like different things! 😁 I've determined to give P&P another try at some point, as I had picked it up rather casually rather than being in a specific mood to engage with it. I might become a convert yet! 2mo

AnneCecilie @Bookwomble I‘m know and that‘s the great thing about books, there‘s something for anyone. I read P&P for the first time after watching the BBC series in the mid-90s and I loved the series so was probably inclined to love the book as well. 2mo
Bookwomble @AnneCecilie Perhaps it's weird, but I do like the TV adaptations, and that was a good one 😊 2mo
CaramelLunacy Clearly not! This always puts me in mind of the Dude-watching with the Brontes comic.. 2mo

Ready to start my two year-long reads

Year of Wonder is a reread/ relisten and I hope to do better than last time where I ended up listen to 20 pieces at a time to catch up.

I‘m looking forward to all the bookish fun facts in The Booklover‘s Almanac

Lcsmcat My husband and I (both musicians) are going to try to do Year of Wonder together this year. I‘ll be interested in sharing thoughts/reactions with you. 3mo
AnneCecilie @Lcsmcat I‘m up for that, just keep in mind that I‘m no musician. I grew up listening to the New Year‘s Concert from Vienna. This book showed up on SavidgeReads YouTube channel a few years ago, so I wanted to give it a go. 3mo
Lcsmcat @AnneCecilie You don‘t have to be classically trained to appreciate good music, and starting the year with the Bach b minor gives me great hopes for this. 😀 3mo
AnneCecilie @Lcsmcat I listened to this 2 yrs ago as well and remember enjoying a lot of these, but off course with 366 pieces there will be som you don‘t like. 3mo
Lcsmcat @AnneCecilie We couldn‘t stop with the Sanctus this morning, so we‘re listening to the whole mass. 😀 We won‘t be able to do that on work days, but today we can indulge. 3mo
