dabbe With all this paleness and blood loss and (I don't know) seeing Mina and Dracula together (what a grotesque scene), why didn't they give her any transfusions like they did for Lucy? Did I miss something somewhere? And I got more annoyed this time around reading it. How dense can these men be? Seriously? I really don't think I have ever read ANYTHING (even a play) where the dramatic irony was basically on every single page. Wowza! 2w
BarkingMadRead @dabbe right? I was wondering the same? Are they waiting for the fangs? Insane 2w
Clare-Dragonfly Mina shows how brilliant she is and how they can‘t get by without her again! 2w
Clare-Dragonfly @dabbe Good point. Maybe they figure now that they know the reason for blood loss, it‘s better to go straight to the source? You‘d think they would at least discuss it though. 2w
Cuilin @dabbe I was wondering this too and the only thing I came up with was the fact that it didn‘t work for Mina so they thought why bother. 🤷‍♀️ 1w
Larkken @dabbe the way they infantalize but also ignore her is infuriating. You're right, the comparison in how the two ladies are treated by the men is eye opening. 1w
dabbe @BarkingMadRead @Clare-Dragonly @Cuilin @Larkken ... agree 💯. I guess I was hoping that even though they knew it didn't ultimately work for Lucy that they'd still give Mina some blood to keep her going. And is it also bad of me to think that they didn't mind INJECTING blood into Lucy because they all loved her but not Mina? There definitely is a sexually perverse angle to this novel, too. 1w
