This Monday I‘m in 1930s Syria at an archaeological dig with Dame Agatha and her second husband, Max Mallowan. Some of my favorite Poirot novels are those set in the Levant region, so I am looking forward to this memoir.

These are all books I physically own that I hope to read in May for the #ShelfSweeper readathon hosted by @Tove_Reads and @Andrew65 .
I didn‘t see any from @eanderson ‘s list that happened to coincide with my plans but I will still be reading in her memory #4Elizabeth ❤️ If there is a heaven, surely it is a library.
Finished TMITBS. I thoroughly enjoyed this!Anne Beddingfeld, the protagonist is intelligent, curious, self aware, independent,& seeking adventure & travel. After she witnesses a terrified man fall onto train tracks, she observes the doctor who came to his aid going thru his pockets, then hurrying away. She notices a paper by with a few numbers on it. What does it mean? What terrified the man? Convoluted plot where all is not what it seems. #ChristieCapers
A pick me up afternoon coffee & Agatha Christie to read on this dreary, rainy day. #ChristieCapers #April
Not one of Agatha Christie's best, but great fun nonetheless. It definitely showcases her sense of humour. It's pretty much a spoof spy thriller, with all the characters acting like they're something out of Wodehouse. For a while I was sure I had worked out the solution to the mystery, but of course I hadn't 😂
Time for some classic #Eastercrime
I read (and watched) a lot of Agatha Christie in my teens, and the premise of this one sounds familiar, but I can't remember who the killer is or why. Hopefully it won't come back to me as I read 😅
Although I had previously read a Tommy & Tuppence story in a detective story anthology, this was the first novel featuring the married duo I have read & what an absolute delight. Set during WWII Tommy is tasked with trying to determine who might be behind the Fifth Column in Britain. Not one to be left behind, Tuppence secretly joins him. My minor gripe about this novel is that the reveal about the major players def have a deus ex machina (CONT)
I don't remember when I last read this one - the joys of getting older and being able to forget every single thing about a Christie novel. It's one of her (underrated, in my opinion) novels with no Poirot or Miss Marple, just a cast of characters we get to know who solve the mystery on their own. Emily is delightfully plucky, brave and loyal. I really enjoyed it again!
