I just ordered the tagged book published by Europa. I wasn't familiar with it but I'm really looking forward to reading it.

I think I need to quit browsing Litsy and #Libby before bed, my #library card is really getting a workout! I blame @emilyhaldi and @alisonrose for tonight‘s additions! #queerbooks #dammitlitsy

Erinsuereads If I read half the books I checked out on Libby I would quadruple my goodreads goal 6y
Owlizabeth @ErinSueG it‘s too easy! 6y
emilyhaldi Yay! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 6y
alisonrose I‘m enjoying it so far! 6y

Having major shelf envy today. This is one of my two (yes, just two!) bookshelves. For many years I've been trying to pass on books unless I just can't part with them but there is something so divine about walls lined with books, I think I might be changing course. #dammitLitsy! #shelfie #funfridayphoto @Liberty

#dammitLitsy!! Thanks to all your amazing comics recommendations, I just went a little crazy on Amazon. I just couldn't resist that amazing cover on the Saga Deluxe edition. Of course I want to read ALL your other picks too and I just came across this great list from #BookRiot. http://bookriot.com/?p=114586 I think I may have a new #booknerdproblem, like a needed another one.😂

TrishB Always room for another one 😀 7y

#photoadaynov16 There was a time when no Canadian kid made it through school without learning a verse or two of The Cremation of Sam McGee. My father's favorite poet, and one of mine too. #chillyreads @RealLifeReading

Loreen My mother taught this poem to me. She learned it at an elementary school in Mesa, AZ. 🌵🌵🌵😀😀😀 7y
KVanRead @Loreen Ha! Glad to know its popularity extended that far to the south! 👏 7y
LeahBergen Oh, yes! ❤️❤️ 7y

LeahBergen One of my other favourite poems by him (from when I was 12) is "Dolls". Have you read it? 7y
rubyslippersreads @LeahBergen I just looked up that poem. So sad. 😢😢😢 7y
KVanRead @LeahBergen @rubyslippersreads Just looked it up too. 😥So sad and so true for too many. 7y
Kirstin I used to live in Yukon and went to the Robert Service cabin! Love all his poetry. And if you can find Ted Harrison's illustrated books of his poems, they're awesome! 😊 7y
KVanRead @Kirstin That's so cool! I will have to look for that collection. #dammitLitsy 7y
Dragon Yup we read this poem ❄️ 7y

I'm five friggin books away from the highest reading goal I've ever set for myself! I'm reading 4 books currently, just need to finish them before the end of the year and find one more! Any suggestions?

MrBook Oh my goodness! I have the *same* exact reading goal on GR!!! 😂👏🏻🙌🏻 #KindredSpirits! Pre-Litsy, I was 4 books ahead of schedule. After I joined, I'm 4 books behind schedule 😂👏🏻. I'm at 60, I think. Crunch time! 7y
Reviewsbylola You got this!!! 7y
Zelma @AshManzer Comic book. Short but still a book. 😉 @MrBook yes, Litsy has really impacted my reading time. I feel like I'm on the internet all the time now. #dammitlitsy 7y
AshManzer @Zelma good idea!!! @MrBook you can do it!! 7y

Since I already have a massive TBR pile, I'll restrict myself to one book only!

Reviewsbylola Youre very strong! This was one of my choices too. 7y
BibliophileMomma This was my choice too. 7y
erinreads I only went with one this month, too. But it was Swing Time since I already have this one! 7y
Inked.and.nerdy I'm having to make the same decision this month too! My tbr pile is getting out of control.. #dammitlitsy #blameitonlitsy 7y

I have been missing Litsy these past couple of days! Hello again! Here is one of my rainbow bookshelves (and my favorite one!)... It's truly my happy place. I am a big fan of color blocking my books - I tend to remember books by what the covers look like so this system works wonderfully for me 🌈💕.

How do you organize your books!?

#somethingforsept #rainbowbooks

Lizpixie While I think it looks lovely, all of these rainbow shelves, my mild ocd demands my books be in alphabetical order by author, then chronological. Just thinking about how would I find a book if they weren't organised like that does my head in!😜 8y
BookishFeminist Beautiful! I try to organize by author last name and genre (but loosely)- I have a general fiction shelf, nonfiction with feminism, history, and memoir divided up, and then my bedroom shelves are all sci fi/fantasy/horror/thriller/detective :) 8y
alisonrose I love the way pretty shelves look but I need the order! I have mine alphabetical, fiction and nonfiction separated 8y
See All 35 Comments
ApoptyGina69 I go more by topic: biography, horror, Irish fiction, Hispanic fiction, classics, pop culture, etc. 8y
BooksForEmpathy @Lizpixie Haha! Oh wow alphabetical AND chronological!? That is impressive. Thanks for sharing!! 8y
BooksForEmpathy @BookishFeminist Thank you! I think so too 😊. I like the idea of grouping by genre - especially the nonfiction with feminism books. I sometimes fantasize about different ways to organize and that would just be so satisfying a@d empowering to see all of those books next to each other! 8y
BooksForEmpathy @alisonrose So interesting! Thanks for sharing with me - "order" means so many different things to different people ?. 8y
BooksForEmpathy @ApoptyGina69 Whoa! Irish and Hispanic fiction! Got any favorites!? 8y
stacybmartin Gorgeous shelf! 😍📚 8y
LeahBergen What a lovely bookshelf! I organize by topic (like @ApoptyGina69); fiction and nonfiction are in separate bookcases. I further divide it all into my own obscure areas like historical fiction, Canadian Fiction, Southern fiction, books about books, ancient Egypt, royalty, pirates, disaster tales and on and on 😂 8y
MrBook Usually by size. Love this pic! 8y
Varshitha That's so gorgeous 😍 8y
bookishfurmom Mine are not organized they just get put on the shelf 😬😂 8y
Ais I'm making my box room into a little mini library, (hopefully next year!) and I'm currently thinking about what way to organise them, I like the idea of organising them this way! 8y
erzascarletbookgasm This is beautiful, love it, but it won't work for me..won't be able to find my books! 😄 8y
Inked.and.nerdy Mine have always been organized in alphabetical order and after seeing so many gorgeous shelfies on here and instagram I am definitely planning on doing a rainbow shelf and then the shelves for Harry Potter and other series, etc. I want to get creative. Another #dammitlitsy moment for me lol 8y
Soubhiville I have done alphabetical and right now I've got my read books just by genre and my TBR alphabetical. When we move in the spring I want to try a rainbow shelf. I know I'll like how it looks but I'm not sure I'll feel good about separating an author's books! This is gorgeous, though! 8y
Laura317 @Inked.and.nerdy Your hashtag! 😂😂😂 8y
Anabnieto I am daydreaming and saving to build a bookshelf similar to this one under my stairs! I like to order my books by themes. 8y
[DELETED] 2232195534 When I don't have so many stacks, I do alphabetical and then usually in series order, right now? Well, let's just say that the stacks have taken over. Many are in my closet, so I just shut the door and don't look at them. Your color sorting is very pretty. 8y
mauveandrosysky I love this aesthetic so much! 8y
PurpleyPumpkin Your bookshelves are beautiful! It's interesting to see the different ways people organize their books. I'm like @Lizpixie, alpha by author's last name and then chronological. I've then further categorized between hardcover fiction, paperback fiction, nonfiction and YA. 8y
Karli Gorgeous!!! 8y
moranadatter First by where they get used most. Then by type and size. Then alphabetically by author's last name. Then by title. Except for series. Series are in series order. Sometimes justwherever I have space. 8y
ApoptyGina69 @BooksForEmpathy for sure! Ireland: Trinity by Leon Uris and 8y
LibrarianJen Your bookshelf is so pretty!!! I wish I could do something like that but I just can't. I organize my books at home the same way I organize them at work: the Dewey system. 8y
BooksForEmpathy @kmdartist This is also so impressive! Have you always done it this way or did you have to do one big overhaul and reorganization when you decided?? 8y
BooksForEmpathy @PurpleyPumpkin I know, right!? This is so fascinating to me and Litsy is the best because it's full of people who can really appreciate the time and effort it takes to get our books "just right" for ourselves. 8y
BooksForEmpathy @kaysreadinglife Ahhhh, stacks. I still have those around the apartment too. I love the look of them but am also always trying to figure out how to get more bookshelf space in our home. 8y
BooksForEmpathy @Anabnieto Yes! I saw this idea online somewhere and it has seriously become such a focal point in our home. Friends are immediately drawn to it and it sets the tone for the rest of the apartment. I hope you get yours soon!! 8y
BooksForEmpathy @Soubhiville Yep... I went through that as well... The inevitable separating of an author's books. It is hard but I always think about it as if they are taking up more shelf space and their words are being distributed to more places around our home! Hope that makes sense to you haha. I have my own logic 🙃. 8y
BooksForEmpathy @Inked.and.nerdy Same thing happened to me - I saw it online somewhere and it connected with me and now here I am. And yes, dammitlitsy is the story of my life these days 😂. 8y
BooksForEmpathy @Inked.and.nerdy whoops forgot the hashtag #dammitlitsy 8y
ValerieAndBooks Mine are by categories but in no particular order! I do try to keep books by the same author together also. Sometimes it depends on whether the book fits on a certain shelf also. I have an under the stairs open space like you...may borrow this idea for extra shelves someday 😊 8y
