This one was kind of disappointing. There is no way a psychiatric ward would not have group therapy and individual therapy. I read about the author afterwards though and it makes me sad he didn‘t get the help he needed ☹️

This book was not what I expected and I am so glad it wasn‘t. I love YA but sometimes it all feels the same, and this story was so different! It‘s about Mental Health, Family, heritage and most of all friendship. It made me cry! All the Star Trek references repeatedly kind of bugged me, which is my only complaint.. the story itself was fantastic.

I haven‘t been on in a bit because I‘ve been sick. But I just wanted to check in because today is my (observed) Litsyversary! I started using this fun little app 3 years ago today which is also my favorite book‘s birthday! Happy 57th, The Bell Jar!

Wow I really enjoyed that! Started and finished today. A great choice for a more introspective/introverted weekend.
This is dark and dry humour, somewhat depressing, but honest. Maybe hopeful? But for that, you'll have to judge yourself.
I think I like the end that calls into question any narrator(person) as honest and reliable.

Cathythoughts Nice review 👍🏻❤️I‘m looking forward to this one 6d

Already loving this. I know Bunny is seen as an unlikable character but I love her. Maybe it's because I'm understanding where the character's comments are coming from, maybe it's because at times I have the same acerbic look at things, or maybe because I dont have to live with her LOL.
anyway, she'll make you chuckle with some #hardtruth

My husband had a poster of Oliver North up in his student house. I make terrible, terrible life choices.

First book of 2020 done. I always feel weird “reviewing” a memoir. For me, a memoir is the raw story that someone decides to share - the lows and highs of life, which this book has a LOT of...mostly lows. It is strangely intimate reading someone‘s pain and struggles so openly - finding some moments resound with you while other moments feel so foreign, but experiencing it all the same. It makes me wonder what my happy is and how I got there...

RIP Elizabeth Wurtzel

SquidgetsRoom I read Prozac Nation a long time ago & was really touched by it. I lent it to a cousin who damaged it irreversibly, so I actually bought it a 2nd time! It‘s not something I usually do, as I very rarely re-read anything. @arlenefinnigan I wasn‘t aware that she had passed. RIP Elizabeth 😇 1w
arlenefinnigan @SquidgetsRoom this has been on my TBR for years, felt compelled to start when I heard the news. No age. 1w
