Excellent. Neil Gaiman, as usual, does a fantastic job telling Adams‘s biography as well as the story of HHGTTG.

#TIL that Adams intended Ford Prefect to be an anti-Doctor Who, who always rushes about saving people & planets, generally doing good works. Ford, on the other hand, given the choice between saving the world from some disaster or going to a party, he‘d go to the party every time. 😂

rachelsbrittain This sounds fascinating! Didn't know Gaiman had done a biography on Adams. 2mo
wanderinglynn @rachelsbrittain he originally wrote it in 1986 when Adams was still alive. It‘s been updated 3 times since then and I read the 2003 version. 2mo
Deifio Stacked it! I mean, what's not to like about this? Definitely have to get this soon! 2mo

I‘m thoroughly enjoying this book. So many awesome tidbits about HHGTTG and packed full of info about Adams. Gaiman, as usual, is a masterful storyteller.

#TIL that The Restaurant at the End of the Universe was Adams‘s favorite of the HHGTTG trilogy and that he thought Life, the Universe, & Everything had some of the best and some of the worst Hitchhiker‘s writing.

I really like the way Douglas Adams tells stories. And I like animals. So this book was good.

When the fifth book in the “trilogy” appeared, it looked like this could be a #NeverEndingStory. Sadly , the fifth was also the final part.

Listening to this #audiobook collection of letters, articles, and other pieces found on Douglas Adams‘ 4 computers after his death was a nostalgic delight. I had the great privilege of attending one of DA‘s readings in Germany in the nineties. At that time, he was promoting Last Chance To See. He was a great talent!

Aimeesue Last Chance to See is a great (but sad) book. I still mourn the Chinese River Dolphins. ☹️ 5mo

A solo business trip = reading time!
I made it about 1/3 through this one on my way back to San Antonio today. Since I'm here alone, I can hibernate for a few hours & finish it up this week.

Louise I‘m currently listening to a collection of short pieces that was put together after Douglas Adams died. He was such a talent! 5mo
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @Louise I don't normally read sci-fi but the first one was pretty delightful so I figured I would give book 2 a chance. I think any of these writers who come up with these crazy worlds are huge talents. 5mo
Louise You might enjoy his delightful book about endangered species. I had the great good fortune of attending a reading of his while he was promoting this book in Europe in the nineties. 5mo
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Thanks @Louise I'll have to check it out. 5mo
