YA HF in verse, based on a true story. When Frederika Bremer, from Sweden 🇸🇪, sets off to learn about the people of the magical island of Cuba 🇨🇺, she is accompanied by Cecilia, a young slave who longs for her lost home in Africa. They are joined by Elena, daughter in the house where Frederika is staying. The 3 women form a wonderful relationship that transcends language, backgrounds, and social conventions 💗

Sunday I went for my second visit to an amazing exhibit by a local artist named Leila Girvin, who pursued her art beginning in the 50 while raising 4 boys. I loved the exhibit including a small sitting area of mid-century modern furniture and a selection of books chosen by the artist, books that influence her. The tagged is one of them. Stacked. I plan to return and sit with her books and art again before the exhibit closes. Gervin is 93.

marleed I love mid century chairs (I actually think the whole story is a great history class)! If I ever win the lottery my first purchase will be the papa chair and foot rest! 1y

Hello? | Liza Wiemer

Very good. The characters are displayed in a lighting that truly shows not only the experiences but also how they have grow and deal with them in the present. Not only are the character very raw, but also written in a way that may help others to find comfort and potentially gain help for themselves. Maybe one day we may finally understand what others need and what can be done to help. For now, just keep living.
