Happy Pride Month everyone! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

The tagged book is my choice for June‘s #QueerBC and I can‘t wait to get to it. I‘ve loved everything else I‘ve read by Zen Cho, although this looks pretty different.

#SundayFunday Hope you all have a safe and wonderful day, and don‘t forget to tag me!

julesG It's good, if a bit weird. I truly enjoyed it. 2d

51/100 I know it's an old saying, but honestly, I could listen to Stephen Fry read a phone book, if they still existed. His narration really brings the story of Odessus to life, it's often quite funny when it's not being tragic, as Odessus has one misadventure after another, both helped and hindered by the various gods of Olympus. I know this is the last book of his Greek Mythology series, but I love to see him tackle Norse mythology. 5 🌟 read

dabbe I just started reading MYTHOS. I'm thinking I need to listen to it, instead. I love Stephen Fry! 💚💜💚 1w
RamsFan1963 He has an amazing voice, and I love his characterization of Zeus, the most harassed father in history, always having his children pestering him for favors or to clean up messes they've mad in the mortal world. 1w

CBee I agree!! I LOVED Mythos and gave Troy and Heroes lined up. Might do Odyssey first though! 1w

4✨ I read this a while ago, but never got to review it. The world building of breath, color, and gods was beautifully written. Vivenna was not my favorite, but I appreciate an outside look at what was happening in the castle. The god king and Siri was my favorite POV and I was rooting for them the whole time. Lightsong brought a lot of humor to the book, and the ending for him was unexpected, but much appreciated!

Oh Boy! Oh Boy! Oh Boy! I did not know that Stephen Fry had a 4th book in the Greek Mythology series. I need to finish my current audiobook so I can get to this. I know it's going to be another winner. #SeriesLove2025

This is lovely in so many ways. I don't quite know why I kept stalling with it.

Here's my endorsement: I settled down to read a bit, with 115 pages left. I was cross-legged on the floor. By my wife's account, I then barely even shifted for 40 minutes -- until I'd finished the book.

At that point I remembered I'm 35 and shouldn't sit like that without moving for even 10 minutes, let alone 40. Ow!!!

I found a crossover! The storyteller that gives Siri (and us) the entire backstory to the realm. The name was nagging at me. The passage in the photo might not refer to events in The Final Empire, but there is a Hoid there. (Reading on kindle can be handy. I did a search on his name in the books.) He's the beggar-informer in book 1 who makes Kelsier angry enough to reveal more than he intended. And I think the one Vin decided not to approach in 3

JacqMac That is a great find! I didn‘t notice it. I think I have to pay more attention. Lol 4w
julesG Hoid pops up a lot. 😉 And that's from me who got a lot of background info from friends who love the series, but I DNF'd the first book. 😬 3w

I enjoyed listening to this fluffy romance very much. The background story of a poisoning and some killings with victims getting there heads chopped off made it a mystery somehow. The humour had me laugh in my car a lot of times and made up for the somewhat overdone insecurity of the two main characters. I have to say listening to Steven & Grace‘s thoughts about whether they liked each other or not was quite annoying. Still a pick.

Leniverse That's pretty much how I felt about every book in the series. Rolled my eyes a bit at the romance tropes, but just had a really good time with them anyway. Really hope she finishes the series. 4w

I loved this one. I especially loved the humor and sarcasm that went along with the sad bits. And it was so unpredictable. He kept me guessing until the very end. I can‘t wait to hear what you all think. #CosmereBuddyRead

Meshell1313 I loved this one and the ending! Lightsong‘s storyline was my favorite and his ending I thought was perfection. I am also pleased with Vivenna and Vasher‘s ending kind of walking off together to who knows where- but you know she can‘t ever go back to her old life. 4w
JacqMac @Meshell1313 This one might be my favorite so far. I loved the ending, too. I agree Lightsong‘s whole storyline was absolute perfection. 4w

Andrew65 I have finally caught up, yee haw!!!
I agree with you both @meshell1313 and @jacqmac this was an excellent book and my favourite so far. I loved the very feel of it from the get go. As well as Lightsong and his story, I really enjoyed the moments between Siri and Susebron, and their developing relationship. I‘m really not ready to let these characters go.

Leniverse Wow, what a finale. Once I started this part I couldn't put the book down 😅 I thought I had things figured out, but I was mostly wrong. E.g. I thought Lightsong was Idrian 😂 I did guess Vasher's real identity though, although he had me confused for a while. I'm glad Viv asked for clarification in the end, to get it confirmed. And I really hope Sanderson gets around to the sequel soon! 3w
Leniverse I even thought Blushweaver was faking her torture, to trick Lightweaver 🤦🏻‍♀️ I was more paranoid than Viv at the end. And yet I didn't guess at who the mastermind was. I should have. The signs were all there, even the lack of knowledge about their religious beliefs. I was sure that was significant, and still I was surprised. This was so well done. @Andrew65 @Meshell1313 @JacqMac 3w
JacqMac @Leniverse It was so well done. I didn‘t guess any of it either. I was also suspicious of Blushweaver. I am really hoping for a sequel, too. I want more of the characters. 3w
Andrew65 @Leniverse From what I read somewhere will be 2027 for a sequel at the earliest, and that it wouldn‘t be so much a sequel as including the stories of one or two characters from this book. (edited) 3w
Leniverse @Andrew65 That's a shame. What I've seen is that there's to be a sequel called Nightblood, following Vasher and Viv (and the sword, obvs), but that it wasn't due until after several other books. I was hoping he'd been inspired to move it forward 😂 But maybe this is an extra, then? Like a 1.5 novella, or 0.5 backstory? 3w
Andrew65 @Leniverse We should write to him and tell him how urgent it is for us to read it. 😂 3w
JacqMac @Andrew65 😂 We should. I did read that Nightblood is on hold. I hope he eventually writes it. 3w
Leniverse @Andrew65 @JacqMac I mean, I guess we have a few Cosmere books to occupy us while we wait 😂 3w
Roary47 This book was awesome. I also didn‘t predict all these endings. Lightsong was so selfless. I was rooting for the God King and Siri. Now I need to hurry and catch up before our next check in. 3w
Andrew65 @Leniverse @Jacqmac Just a few and they seem to get bigger! 3w
JacqMac @Andrew65 I have arthritis in my thumb and I have to wear a brace on it to hold the big ones. lol 3w
Andrew65 @JacqMac Ouch, that‘s the problems with big books. I also get very sore wrists. 3w
rabbitprincess @Meshell1313 Yes!! I agree with all of this. 3w
