Finishing up this #readyourkindle pick and I might describe it as Medieval Nun Assassins? I loved the history and mythology in this world and our FMC Ismene is questioning all she‘s been taught and falling in love. Lots of real historical figures mixed in the story which makes the betrayals all the more horrible! Will definitely read the next in the series. #serieslove2024 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2

This new novella was beautifully illustrated and I loved the design and layout. I would get it just for its beauty. But the story itself was a little lacking. Not much happened and there was nothing really added to the original story lines. It was just meh. ⭐️⭐️

Enjoyed my #TBRtarot pick this month- perfect time to read this novella! A cute (horror?) story about a group of people who become friends after meeting up all the time for cigarette breaks in an abandoned cemetery and then one night a new hole appears. They go about solving the mystery. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2

#serieslove2024 I loved this first book in a new series by the Bone Shard Daughter author. Her world building is unmatched and so innovative. In this new series two sisters are separated due to this mystical earth restoration and we see both of their lives for the ten years that follow. Lots of unique magic and it left off on a nice shocking surprise so of course I‘m going to read the rest when they come out. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was my next #readyourkindle pick this month. It took a minute to get into it but then I was hooked. Elves find themselves trapped as prisoners of the Fae and there are great love stories but also sisterly love. Many secrets are revealed regarding the ongoing wars, births, and heritage and I love the magic in this world. I will definitely be reading the next 2 in the series! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My first #readyourkindle pick this month was not what I expected- I thought it was going to be more of a fantasy but it seemed more of a mystery. No real supernatural elements. The best part was the setting of the Cloisters. I did not like our FMCs either. This one definitely fell a little short. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

#serieslove2024 Although not as good as the first, I still enjoyed this one. I loved the “will they” or “won‘t they” love story that continues in book 2 and revisiting the characters. It was the plot that didn‘t unfold as naturally as the first I think. Clearly, with this cliffhanger there will be a third so excited for that one. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ooh boy did I love this one! We get multiple POVs and each character‘s storyline was better than the next. A band of misfits coming together to overthrow a King and change their lives. We learn each person‘s motivations and back stories. The ending did fall short for me (it felt like a cop out) as the author is obviously writing a sequel but it was still extremely well written and enjoyable. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I‘m going to be teaching this in my college classes this fall - lots of ideas and solutions to discuss about poverty and American society but also super depressing at the same time. The ideas here are that we could easily end poverty in our country and he leaves us with many solutions as to how. We need to examine who benefits from poverty to understand why it still exists. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Such a great story about friendship and video games. I enjoyed the behind the scenes look at how games are created but the real storyline are Marx, Sam and Sadie and the relationships between them. Meshell1313 @Clare-Dragonfly oh that‘s so interesting! I do think that‘s where the similarities end- although if I remember the sisters in the Snow White rose red fairy tale are very different like the ones in this book as well and although it‘s based in reality the author still relates meeting the bear to a magical experience. #serieslove2024 This first book was a little slow at first, but was actually quite good! (My opinion: Not as good as Fourth Wing but similar). A revolution to replace aristocracy and questions about if new regime is as bad as the old. Two orphaned dragon riders are left to question loyalties to family that is blood vs. found family. The author says this was inspired by the Aeneid and Plato. I will definitely read the rest of the series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love how Roberts creates cities and worlds but this book mainly took place on the road as it was mostly a chase between Kai and Pae.
