This is one of the most controversial and entertaining books I've read in a long time. This book I want to purchase in print and keep it on my bookshelf so anyone can read it and discuss/debate with me. I'm glad I wasn't influenced by the reviews on goodreads because obviously some of them did NOT read the book thoroughly! 5+ stars Now, on to the sequel! I received this book from #NetGalley and #harlequinteen in exchange for an honest review.

Branwen Yes! I totally agree! It is so frustrating when people rate a book poorly before finishing it! 😞 The main character really comes full circle and defeats her own prejudices and grows A LOT and ut is so great to see that! 😀👍 6y
Sha0102 Is it Y&A? 6y
Quirkybookworm Yes @Sha0102 but it is very well written. Just get the book. It‘s good! Way better than Glass of Throne. It actually touches on sensitive subjects we deal with in real life. No sugar coating. 6y
Sha0102 @Quirkybookworm thanks!!! 😃 6y

The Iron Flower | Laurie Forest

5⭐️ Sometimes the Goodreads First Reads gods smile at you. Full Disclaimer: I am a fan of The Black Witch and eagerly was looking to #2.

Forest wastes no time in launching into the rapidly deteriorating political climate created by the absolute rule of the Mage Council. No race or species is safe... unless it‘s the one in power. Elloren is focused on getting her friends to safety then has to make choices where to ally her loyalties. 👇🏼🖤🖤⚗️

Jess_Read_This As Elloren becomes embroiled in rescuing the Selkies and getting her Fae friends to the north, the world around them is rapidly becoming more hostile. Elloren‘s power is growing with more affinity lines appearing. Loyalties, secrets, and motivations all become key plot elements in this sequel. Absolute power absolutely corrupts. (edited) 6y

🌟🌟🌟
You know that feeling when a character does something really really dumb and you can't do anything so you just hit your head with the book and die of second hand embarrassment? I've never experienced it this much in a single story. At times it did suck to be stuck in Rose's mind because she mostly just passively sailed through everything till she occasionally snapped. This was a fun read about the roller coaster that is high school.

Our enormous cycad is about to flower. But I‘m not sure either my #currentread or the flower itself are being shown in their best light in this picture. Also #thorny. This #aprilrelease2018 from #harlequinteen has very good ratings on GR, so I am diving in. #fantasy #yaliterature #preview #rso

Oh dear. Went over to #goodreads to mark this #currentlyreading and was overwhelmed by one ⭐️ comments. These were reviewers from 2016 calling the author out for racist stereotyping and condescending attitudes. Apparently there has been a major edit since then. I guess I need to make up my own mind. #aprilrelease2018 🇦🇺 #rso#harlequinteen

MarriedtoMrT Uh oh! I hate when I end up seeing too many reviews ahead of time that will color my perceptions going in. I hope they did fix things! 7y
Missusb Yes. I should have stopped scrolling. But I also find some people are giving one star to books they haven‘t read. It‘s a balancing act. 7y
melbeautyandbooks I don‘t understand how/why someone would rate/review a book he/she didn‘t read. It makes no sense to me. I get rating something you bailed on because you read enough to know it wasn‘t for you. 7y

MASSIVE thanks to Harlequin Teen for this ARC of 'All Rights Reserved' by Gregory Scott Katsoulis & a signed bookplate! The premise of this book sounds incredible, and I can't wait to dig in. "When every word has a price, her silence could spark a revolution." On sale August 29, 2017.

My first ARC!! I won this in a #HarlequinTeen giveaway and am so excited; although I either filled out the giveaway using my maiden name or they wrote this because of my email address haha! It's only been 3 years... maybe it's time to make a new email?

DeborahSmall Brilliant! Would love a hard copy ARC, well done! I've had my email address for 12 years and only married since April although we've been together for almost 15 years. My email address is only thing left to change 🙃 8y
Smangela @DeborahSmall when I first started to get into getting my name changed - I had a internal dilemma for a little bit! I've always been Angela Blackburn and now I'm not going to be? Plus it's such a hassle haha! I'm determined to change my email at some point 😉 8y
DeborahSmall Blackburn is common in Scotland although a place in England. Are you in US? 8y

Smangela @DeborahSmall I am in the US :) I should learn more about where my family came from! I wonder if it's Scotland? 8y
DeborahSmall There's a big football (soccer) team in premier league called Blackburn united. But as I say I think it's more popular in Scotland as a name. Burn on its own too. Your married name is Also very Scottish lol 😂 8y
MeganAnn At least I'm not the only one! I've been married for almost six years and still haven't changed my email to my married name... 😳 8y
