Sorry for the late post; I've been dog sitting and then with the family since yesterday. Thank you @Forestandcrow for the book and candy. This was my number one book wish for the holidays. Happy Jólabókaflóð!

The story jumps right in after the prologue without much character development, which made it hard to get into at first. I love a good story about deep family bonds, and all the magic made it better! Anne‘s self righteousness made me so mad at the end, she played just as big a part. Overall a warm, cozy read. Book #106 in 2024

I started this ARC back in October & never finished it & wanted to get it off of my massive NetGalley ARC TBR. Ir was okay. I liked the main characters but I felt like the story was too convoluted & needed shortening & better editing. It had some sparks of humor (Pod the raccoon familiar & the sentient kitchen appliance‘s) but I require more & more snark in my paranormal romances. This one was too angsty. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I found this really hard work to finish.
I like the witchy side of it, but the romance part got on my nerves.

I wasn‘t really wowed by this book — I found it predictable and not particularly original. The characters seemed to have more going on than the reader knew about, which was too bad, since they could have used more dimension. It was a quick read, though, with nothing particularly objectionable about it. Just left me sort of meh.
