#UnpopularOpinion ...I really disliked this book. The humor was way too cheesy to me, and while the whole premise is to embrace however you look, I also didn‘t quite connect with the body-image positive vibes. Others loved this book, but it was so not for me.

I also sped up the reading...the book is over 9 hours on audio.

LibrarianRyan Yeah for the romp but boo for a bad book. 4y

My final book for the #teenangst category for #BBRC! #lollipopfiction

I didn‘t like this nearly as much as When Dimple Met Rishi. Cute story, but there was a lot of immaturity here.

LibrarianRyan I have not been able to get through any of these. 4y

This was really adorable. It's the story of Zuzana's first date with Mik, set in the world of Daughter of Smoke and Bones.

Finished my first book of the new year (Knit) and started the first LGBT book club read of the year (Carry On). Boys Don‘t Knit was a fairly light read and almost made me want to take up knitting myself. The characters were interesting and I enjoyed some of the humor — not laugh out loud, but I smiled. Going to file this one into some of my reading challenges too!

LibrarianRyan I agree. I liked this book. It wasn't excellent, but it was fun. There is a sequel about his sister called Girls Don't Fight I believe

bibliobard @LibrarianRyan there is also a sequel about him going to New York (a prize he won from the end of the book). Not sure I will read the sequels, didn‘t really capture my interest enough to continue necessarily. 4y
LibrarianRyan @Shakespearience Oh yeah. Forgot about that one. I had no desire to read the rest either. 4y

So apparently this was a reread. Goodreads shows I read it in 2014, but I only had a vague recollection. Flew through it in a evening. It was really fun and especially recommend for fans of a wrinkle in time as it features prominently. Miranda, a 12 yo in nyc in the 70s starts getting mysterious notes and must determine their meaning. #bbrc #ya #lollipopfiction

Once I got past the whole “written like journal entries to female directors” gimmick, I enjoyed this romance about a girl figuring out how to be her true self, and apologizing for mistakes she makes along the way. #bbrc #teenangst #lollipopfiction #readmyowndamnbooks
