The Story of Puss in Boots and Other Tales | Peter Holeinone

I picked up this book from the LFL a while ago, forgot about it, found it again during a bookcase cleanout, and read it in the midst of cleaning the bathroom. Cute illustrations, interesting twists on known stories, and several tales of trickery.

This is apparently part of a series, but I‘m skeptical that the author‘s name is really hole in one. 😆

Mattsbookaday While the stories here have been altered to better fit contemporary sensibilities, I loved that the editor was careful to discuss how and why they made the changes they did, and provided references to where the more traditional versions can be found. My problems with this collection were more to do with my issues with folklore as a whole, so I can‘t really hold that against it.
