A four-year-old Mi‘kmaq girl goes missing from the blueberry fields of Maine, sparking a tragic mystery that haunts the survivors, unravels a community, and remains unsolved for nearly fifty years.

EadieB July 1962. A Mi‘kmaq family from Nova Scotia arrives in Maine to pick blueberries for the summer. Weeks later, four-year-old Ruthie, the family‘s youngest child, vanishes. She is last seen by her six-year-old brother, Joe, sitting on a favorite rock at the edge of a berry field. Joe will remain distraught by his sister‘s disappearance for years to come. 4d

In Maine, a young girl named Norma grows up as the only child of an affluent family. Her father is emotionally distant, her mother frustratingly overprotective. Norma is often troubled by recurring dreams and visions that seem more like memories than imagination. As she grows older, Norma slowly comes to realize there is something her parents aren‘t telling her.

EadieB Unwilling to abandon her intuition, she will spend decades trying to uncover this family secret.
I read this book and found it very interesting. Joe and Norma were interchanging narrators. It is a story about the search for truth, the shadow of trauma and the persistence of love across time.

EadieB The story drew me in a little at a time until I was fully engrossed in the story. I would highly recommend for you to read this book on your own and hope you enjoy it as much as I did. If you like stories about truth, trauma and love then you will love this book. 4d

I am hoping to get at least halfway done or finished with this book for #MarvellousMarchReadathon hosted by @Andrew65 and work on my yearly goal cause I am 21 books behind and I would like to lower that number.

Another slow pace reading, character driven story. Set part in London and part in Ireland. Two time lines. Olivia inherited her grandfather‘s bookshop and there is a photo of two girls and a manuscript that connect these girls with her grandmother who has now Alzheimer. These girls claimed that they saw fairies. Olivia will search the truth behind the photos. Also about family relations/secrets, second chances and what is home for Olivia⬇️

Gissy The story is so pretty but I can understand that is not for everyone. I really enjoyed it. Love the audiobook because of the Irish accent and traditions mentioned here. This book has been in my tbr forever😳but I finally I read it. There some gifts I liked in this box. 3.8/4⭐️

First book read by this author and it was perfect for me. A slow pace character driven kind of mystery. Cal hooper an American retired cop decided to move to a small place Ireland. There, he will be involved almost by accident in a search of a missing person. This novel will be perfect for a sequel. I really enjoyed it but it is pretty slow in case you like more action 4⭐️

Andrew65 Well done 👏👏👏 Love the colour coordination of the book cover and the cover. Read this book a long time ago but cannot remember too much about it. 12mo

Gissy @Andrew65 Retired divorcee cop moved alone to Ireland, no family no friends there😳He is trying to help a kid to find her missing older brother. Apparently the brother was dealing with some kind of “mafia” from Dublin. Terrible what happened. 12mo

Dark and suspenseful, this story will hold your attention with its haunting mystery and characters. The MC father-to-be Brian Holloway is a locksmith/safe expert who can open anything. Until he‘s hired to open a very old, nearly impenetrable box under the floor…😱

#38 in the N.D. Mysteries! This one was clever and exciting as we follow Nancy, Bess, and George first to New York, then to Hong Kong where Ned is living and knows Chinese 🇨🇳. There are kidnappings, disguises, helicopters, and mayhem. Well done 🧨
