When I first read this, I gave it 5 stars. Age & wisdom have bumped it down to 3; it‘s not nearly as funny as I remember. Maybe it‘s because I‘ve seen the movie too many times, where the mom is redeemed just a little, I felt ZERO sympathy for the Mrs. X in the book. My heart breaks for that little boy (& the dog). I hope he gets a happy ending in the sequel
And this line hit like a punch in the gut. I have felt exactly that way in my own career.
Currently reading on the porch! It‘s finally cooled off a bit! ❤️📚🖤 so ready for fall! 🧡 🍂

Happy Saturday! Coincidentally the covers of my current creepy reads are similar 🖤🔑📚

Cade is looking for a nanny for his son, Luke. Willa arrives in town and the rules are simple - look after Luke. The issue is they can‘t keep their eyes off each other. One night in the hot tub changes how they see each other. Willas contract is for two months but will it be changed to forever.
Cade sounded so grumpy and scowling but was a doting dad. Willa is loud, witty and carefree.
A slow burn read with a great set of characters.
Just finished the first in the series, now on to the next….hope it‘s as good as the first one
