BooksandCoffee4Me Beautiful! I see them in the water ways in our farmland here, but never in trees. 😮💛 3w
dabbe I would get in a car wreck because I would be totally #gobsmacked looking at them! 💛🐝🖤 3w
Reggie Sooo good! 3w
julieclair @BooksandCoffee4Me They spend their days in the waterways here, too. They only come to the trees towards evening. I read online that they like to spend their nights in trees/bushes because they‘re safer from predators if they‘re off the ground. That makes a lot of sense, since our alligators can‘t climb trees. (Although occasionally one does manage to climb up a few steps!) 2w
julieclair @dabbe I often see people pulled to the side of the road looking at them! 2w
DebinHawaii Wonderful! 💛🐝🖤I love the cattle egrets here too. I see them on the highway & in the neighborhood. I especially love it when they follow yard guys with leaf blowers single file to pick up insects & things they might stir up. Makes me smile! 2w
julieclair @DebinHawaii That‘s a hoot about the yard guys! Smart birds! 2w

I didn‘t appreciate this as much as I feel I should have. Historical fiction in war (WWI) and post-war Africa. Amazing writing, but not my typical read. Read for my country challenge.

GatheringBooks Oooh! You have a fantastic cover! I have a copy of this one but mine has a more boring cover which I haven‘t even cracked open yet. 3w
Kristy_K @GatheringBooks I love this cover! Definitely bought b/c of it lol. 3w

I forgot to post a picture of my #jolabokaflodswap box when I sent this out last week. It traveled up the east coast and should be arriving today. Enjoy!

My lunch breaks have been pretty busy recently, and I probably went about 2 weeks without reading at home, so I'm pretty happy with what I still got in last month. Lots of graphic novels during down time at work 😁

Pickpick

I read a lot of sci-fi and fantasy, so it is sometimes jarring to read a book that is so incredibly real and human. Senhor Jose works at the Central Registry, which records citizens birth and death. His side hobby is collecting records of famous people, but one day he finds the record of "an unknown woman" stuck to the back of a famous person's file. And so begins his quest to learn about her and break the mundanity of his bureaucratic existence.

Bookwomble I loved this book! 6mo
AlaMich That sounds intriguing! 6mo

#DaysDevotedTo Day 8: #CoffeeTea with a Norwegian novel while I was in Bodo Norway early this year. This is part of the free “fika” offered by the hotel between 3-5 pm and- said to be a big part of Scandinavian culture. Reminded me of our merienda - byproduct of Spanish colonization.

Leniverse Fika is specifically Swedish, but it's basically the same thing in Norway only we call it "kaffekos" (yes, even if you don't drink coffee). 7mo
