“You'll always need to use multiple platforms to move your projects forward. No single platform can do everything. The intention here is not to use a single software program, but to use a single organizing system, one that provides consistency even as you switch between apps many times per day.” 🤯

I ended up DNF-ing this book, not because it isn't interesting, but because it's very targeted at a group I'm not in. It provides very practical advice for how students, academics, and non-fiction writers can take notes in a way that improves their writing. If is read this in high school I'd probably have found it very useful, but it's just not applicable to me today and halfway through I decided it wasn't worth finishing for me.

Research, research, research - an absolute must for writers! I took this photo while doing some of my preliminary research for "A Different Familiar." Gotta love Galway! ???☘️

I've been trying to keep a sketch journal and had heard about this one and really enjoyed it. It's very quick and gives simple ideas about how to take more visual notes - rather than doing all text and getting bogged down in writing down every detail.

Just in and not in the database, which is a surprise since Mauro Toselli is one of the top 10 sketchnoters out there. It's pretty good. It's not as all encompassing as tagged, but I recommend it. I got this on Amazon

What are some opinions on highlighting favorite passages and making little notes in physical copies of books? #notes #notetaking #favorites #quotes #blurbs #notations

CoffeeNBooks I often write in my books. I love being able to go back and quickly find my notes, favorite quotes, etc. 6y
BarbaraJean It depends on the type of book for me. I don‘t usually underline or notate fiction anymore, although I used to do it all the time when reading for literature classes. Now, I usually only mark nonfiction—I‘ll underline or bracket favorite quotes or write thoughts in the margin. 6y
