The Marriage Hearse | Kate Ellis

Kirsten Harbourn is found murdered to death on her wedding day. Kirsten was being pursued by an obsessed stalker and she had dark secrets her doting fiancé knew nothing about. At Morbay register office a terrified young girl made her wedding vows, and a few days later her bridegroom was found dead in a seedy seaside hotel. Are these murders linked?

EadieB Meanwhile the skeleton of a young female is found buried in a farmer's field, a field that once belonged to the family of Ralph Strong. Is this bloodthirsty play a confession to a murder committed in the reign of Queen Elizabeth I? Or does it tell another story, one that might cast light on recent mysteries? I loved this story by Kate Ellis. All the murders in this story are somewhat linked. 5d
EadieB I loved how they are tied together as the story is told. Kate Ellis does this as easily as she tells the story. Wesley's wife, Pam, is unhappy with her marriage as Wesley is busy solving the murders. Pam decides after her fling with Jonathan to move on and straighten up and not tell Wesley what was going on. I'm hoping she can keep her secret but I think there will be a consolation in books to come! 5d

This is a very interesting book about the year in music on record 1979. It has 200 rare images of the bands, 100 interviews and insights from the year 1979. The book belongs in the library of every music fan and music institution. It is a great book to put on your coffee table as a reference book.

EadieB I enjoyed reading this book and found a lot of bands and individuals that I was familiar with but also learned about the ones I hadn't known before. I would like to thank Colorado Music Experience and LibraryThing for introducing this book to me. Get a copy of this book to add to your library today! 2w

TheSpineView My piano teacher knew Kiss before fame and makeup. Her husband's band played in the same studio space in NY. She has so pics from the 70s and stories to go with them. 2w

Hitchcock Hotel | Stephanie Wrobel

#TheHitchcockHotel #StephanieWrobel #BookSpinBingo #SeriesLove2024 #October2024

A Hitchcock fanatic with an agenda invites old friends for a weekend stay at his secluded themed hotel in this fiendishly clever, suspenseful new novel. To celebrate the hotel‘s first anniversary, he invites his former best friends from his college Film Club for a reunion. He hasn‘t spoken to any of them in sixteen years.

EadieB The group of characters of old friends are found to be not too popular. There isn't one old friend that I could really care about. I was looking forward to reading about some of the films that Hitchcock wrote. I found this book to be missing the important things that I was interested in. 2w
EadieB I found this book to be a bit tame for a Hitchcockian mystery and the ending was a little weak. So all in all, I was a bit disappointed in this book. I look forward to reading another book by this author in order to compare her writing to this book. 2w

MrT That‘s that book off my TBR. Doesn‘t sound great not when having very little references to all those famous films and classic scenes. 2w
