That didn‘t last nearly long enough but at least I‘m younger than when the author said you really need to start thinking about people dealing with your crap once you are dead. My parents, bless their hearts, totally dealt with their stuff ahead of time.

“Arrange the books in a way that looks good and makes sense to you—whether that‘s alphabetical by author, by subject, or by color, width, or height—or even just randomly.”

My sensation of horror just grew as I read this entire sentence. What kind of monster is Martha Stewart? Organizing by color, I‘ve seen (anxiety-inducing, but you do you) - but by width? Height? RANDOMLY?!

I don‘t think I can do this.

I struggled with the first half. I probably could benefit from putting in the work to declutter my mental space, but I feel like I can‘t even begin to think about that until my physical environment is under control. So to me, things were addressed backwards. That changed once I got to the second half. While I didn‘t find anything earth shatteringly new, it is always helpful to hear how others do it and to pluck out the pertinent tidbits.

I laughed at this section probably more than I should have. 😂 Been decluttering preparing for a move that is going to be happening either in August or September so mortality has been peek-a-booing around every corner. 💀🪦🫠

A really interesting look at getting rid of things. Lots of tips and methods for deciding what to keep. A simple easy read. Though I disagree about the book parts. You can never have too many. 4*

A really simple and interesting look at how to declutter and organise your living spaces. It comes with a simple method and worksheets for each space. Helpful and laid out beautifully. 5*

An interesting look at tackling clutter and chaos in life. I loved the toothbrush theory as it makes so much sense. Really useful and gives you actual exercises to help get started. 4*

As a #longtimefed I kept my own journal of what I did each day. Among other things, it made it easier to prepare my accomplishments at evaluation time.

Here are 5 things I did in a particularly memorable week.
1. Met with boss for weekly progress review. Provided a written summary on which boss took copious notes.
2. Made follow-up calls on all discussed projects. Left messages because nobody answered. Because they were out doing the work. ⬇️

An interesting look at decluttering, tidying and cleaning. This is by the TidyDad Instagram and it's a good read with some useful tips. Plus a bit of humour along the way.

I will admit that I‘m not the person who this book is meant for as I‘m generally pretty good at keeping my house neat. That being said, I agree with her advice to start small like doing the dishes every day. I find her decluttering advice is more helpful so I like her other book just focused on that better. She does also get repetitive at times, which happens when you convert a blog to a book. Bonus pic is my boy Happy just loving the sun ☀️
