#BookHaul Part 1 😊 Took four books to the charity bookstall, came back with seven! Oops 😬
But, who in their right mind, decided to give away a four-volume box set of illustrated books about the Beatles' solo careers? 🤷🏻‍♂️
Whoever it was, I thank them for their incomprehensible decision, as I now own it! 🤓

AmyG Wow! That‘s amazing. 3mo
TrishB Hubby would have loved that! Great find. 3mo
Bookwomble @TrishB Then I can cross him off my list of people not to trust with important decisions, as he obviously wouldn't have let this go! 😄 3mo
Bookwomble @The_Book_Ninja Ooh, those are good playlists! Thanks 😊 3mo

#JuneSpecials #Beatles Of course I‘ve browsed the McCartney photo book many times, I grabbed the other one at a concert at the Musical Instrument Museum a while back & haven‘t read it yet . Definitely an iconic group in the Rock canon !

The Beatles and Philosophy falls at the more academic end of the spectrum, despite its pop culture focus. It‘s written for someone who‘s already across the basics of philosophical thought, and an intimate knowledge of the Beatles catalogue is pretty much essential. Luckily, I came equipped with both. #TuesdayTunes @TieDyeDude
Peter Sellers imitating Lawrence Olivier's characterisation of William Shakespeare's King Richard III, reciting The Beatles' "A Hard Day's Night" with a salacious twinkle in his eye.
Everything has been downhill since this ?

bibliothecarivs It's been a few years since I've seen this genius skit. Thanks for sharing. Olivier's Richard III is still one of my favourite films of all time. While reading about Richard in the tagged book, I was thinking that I need to re-watch it. 5mo
TieDyeDude I didn't know Sellers put out albums! Dr. Strangelove is a top 3 all-time favorite. This was a fun track. Thanks for sharing! 5mo
Bookwomble @bibliothecarivs I can't listen to The Beatles original song without thinking of Peter Sellers, which I count as a good thing 😊 The Beatles loved The Goon Show in which Sellers co-starred. 5mo
Bookwomble @TieDyeDude He was a wonderful actor and comedian. I actually haven't heard him sing, at least not that I can recall, so I've no idea what his albums would be like. 5mo

The genius of Lennon and McCartney is still being examined decades later. Ian Leslie's take on this partnership was informative and entertaining. I loved how he used the Beatles's songs and lyrics to outline John and Paul's partnership, along with the meteoric success they experienced from it. Even when the work and their different lives got in between them, their bond with each other was still there.
