Recently re-obsessed with The Beatles after having finally watched the Get Back documentary. Which is amazing. So I've been collecting all the random Bestles related books I can find and was so beyond excited to find this adorable Little Golden Book. So cute!!

We saw this at the bookstore a few weeks ago and Jace wouldn‘t stop talking about so I finally had to order it from Amazon. At least he has good taste! A nice mini Beatles biography and a great way to introduce them to children. 5⭐️ #Jace #Beatles #biography #littlegoldenbook

Lovely book. Background information from Paul McCartney on the context of these pictures he took. Great photographs in a very exciting time for The Beatles.

My score was 76/100. It could be more, but I don‘t have the patience today to research the unfamiliar titles that I may in fact know.

Here‘s the link if you want to play. https://bit.ly/4cnbsxM

1. Fire & Rain. Just as I‘m contractually obligated to like a song that has my name as the title, likewise with a song that has my name in the lyrics.
2. Don‘t Stop Believin‘. How could I not include this song?
3. He stopped Loving Her Today ⬇️

Susanita Even if you HATE country music, you have to admit this is a helluva song. 4mo
Susanita So many good songs left by the wayside. Honorable mention to Born to Run, London Calling, Heart of Glass, Super Freak, and more! 4mo
dabbe We're finally at the really good ones, aren't we? I had a heckuva time choosing just three myself! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🩶🖤🩶 4mo

#TheBeatles Abbey Road is one of my favourite albums, and Golden Slumbers one of my favourite tracks, which, I discover, should have a third composer listed: Lennon-McCartney-Dekker. The refrain at the end of each verse feels quite modern in this context.
I love finding stuff like this 😊📚🎼

Bookwomble For anyone who might be using text to speech software, the quote in my picture is:

“Golden slumbers kiss your eyes,
Smiles awake you when you rise;
Sleep, pretty wantons, do not cry,
And I will sing a lullaby,
Rock them, rock them, lullaby.

Care is heavy, therefore sleep you,
You are care, and care must keep you;
Sleep, pretty wantons, do not cry,
And I will sing a lullaby,
Rock them, rock them, lullaby.“
- Thomas Dekker, 1572-1632

Ruthiella I love this song too and had no clue as to its origin! Thanks 😊 5mo
Deblovestoread A favorite album/song of mine as well. Love this additional info. 💜 5mo

Bookwomble @Ruthiella @Deblovestoread I didn't know its origin myself until today, when I got to it in this poetry collection and was like, “Hey, wait a minute...!“ ? (edited) 5mo
julieclair Wow! I had no idea. What an amazing find! 5mo

Yellow Submarine | The Beatles
post image

I love The Beatles. They were my first musical hyperfocus. I listened to the albums on repeat and read every biography I could put my hands on. But I loathe the song Yellow Submarine. It's such an awful ear worm!
#tuesdaytunes

TieDyeDude I'm not big on the Beatles, and that is still on the bottom of the list for me 😅

“Thanks“ for playing 😉

Bookwomble ? Dissing The Beatles! ? I need to have a lie down! ? This was one of my favourite songs as a kid, though I sang it as "Yellow Sumbarine". I love it for its absurdist humour, typical of the era, and which often comes through from John, particularly, in band interviews. Different strokes... ? 6mo
CSeydel @Bookwomble Ouch. I‘m with you on this one 🍏💛 6mo

CSeydel @bookwomble 🌊🌊When my kids were small, all five of us got up at the wedding of my husband‘s college friend and sang Yellow Submarine on karaoke! So I particularly love it (edited) 6mo
