Horrorstor: A Novel | Grady Hendrix
post image
Pickpick

Grady Hendrix is becoming one of my “must buy” authors. His slightly funny and campy horror stories always get me hooked. I started this one in the morning and finished it before bed.

Also, another #Pantone2022 color in the books, #CaramelCafe

Jgacreations One of my favorites 2y
lirahlu OMG! Love Grafy Hendrix! Horrorstor is my favorite. The physical book had the best layout. It legit feels like an Ikea catalog. 2y
DGRachel I don‘t think I‘ll ever be able to set foot in an IKEA ever again after reading this. #traumatized 🤣🤣 2y
Breanne1 A favorite, must buy author of mine as well! 2y
Clwojick Agreed! I loved this one and The Southern Book Clubs Guide to Slaying Vampires ❤️ 2y

Group H! Can you all help me pick my book for #LMPBC round 10?

I have all 6 of these that I‘d love to read... please let me know if you‘ve already read any or if you would prefer to read any one in particular. Thank you! 😱

amywithbooks I love Ania Ahlborn! I haven't read that one yet but it's on my list! 3y
sprainedbrain @avgeyer I‘ve had her books on my tbr for so long... definitely need to read them! 3y
Reggie I haven‘t read the four on the left, but my vote still goes toward the Reapers and the Fisherman because they were so good I wouldn‘t mind a reread. And it‘s been a couple of years so I could use a refresher. Any would work! 3y

IMASLOWREADER loved the neighbors 3y
DGRachel The only Ania Ahlborn book I‘ve read was The Seed and it is still the scariest book I‘ve ever read, so I vote for either of hers. #traumatized 3y
sprainedbrain @Reggie those two are probably on my shelves because if your reviews! 😂 (edited) 3y
sprainedbrain @DGRachel I am impressed that you are up for more traumatizing. 😂 3y
DGRachel @sprainedbrain I‘ve really wanted to try more of her work, but I‘ve been too chicken to do it on my own. Book club would force me to do it. 🤣🤣 3y
OnConnersCorner Honestly, I haven‘t heard of any of these, so they all look good to me! 3y

#TBRtemptation post 4! #PhillyMeetUp edition! Proudly purchased by @cinfhen ! It's the story of a family devastated by a gruesome murder. From Heaven, Susie describes how she was confronted by her murderer, lured into a hiding place, raped, and killed. She keeps vigil over her family and wants her killer caught. She's not ready to release her hold on life yet. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

Cinfhen Wow! This book sounds gruesome 😱I just bought it as a request from my daughter! 7y
bookandcat I've read this book so many times. Heartbreaking but beautifully written 7y
Mimi28 @Cinfhen It is brutal. It had a lot of triggers for me which I why I liked the movie better ❤️❤️ 7y

Linear I kinda saw the movie. This is one of those books i cant bring myself to read 7y
Jennick2004 Amazing book! 7y
robinb I read this when it first came out. Not even sure I was able to finish it (I don't remember the ending). Just remember feeling sad and depressed while reading. 😢 Heart wrenching. 7y
Cinfhen Not sure I can read it @Mimi28 @Linear @robinb my daughter & I have very different reading taste. Definitely an age thing.... 7y
robinb @Cinfhen this was not my usual read. I read it because of all the hype about it when it first came out. I'm an emotional reader so it pushed all my buttons. It might be fine for you. 7y
Melkyl When this book first came out, all of my (middle school) students wanted to read it. I always tried to steer them to 7y
DGRachel I read this when Oprah made it a book club pick. It was the first and last Oprah pick I read. It made me ill. So brutal and hard to read. Well-written? Sure. Will I ever recommend it to anyone? Hell no. I'm sorry I read it. #traumatized 7y
DGRachel @Melwilk That looks like a much better choice for middle school students! 7y
robinb @DGRachel I agree with you about the whole Oprah pick thing, my first and last. And no, based on my reading experience, I couldn't recommend it. Maybe I live too much in a fantasy world, but the subject matter was just too dark for me. 7y
monkeygirlsmama I enjoyed the book, but never watched the movie because I heard it was a horrible adaptation. 7y
Mimi28 The movie is sad too but not as detailed about the rape and stuff. I am assuming, I couldn't get past the first few pages of the book. 7y
Cinfhen @robinb I'm thinking it might be too difficult for me as well. There are so many books out there, I don't see a reason to torture myself with this one. 7y
robinb @Cinfhen that's my philosophy too. 7y
