Ch 29: #wyatt ⁉️‼️ #thatwasalot #veryfarfetched #ifeelcheated #ithoughtitwasmeggie #whodidyouallsuspect #hashtagbrigade
Using a pic of my granddaughter for today, because this was me when I found whodunnit 🤣

Bookwormjillk Lol perfect pic, because yeah. Completely random at least to me. 1d
TheAromaofBooks That is an AMAZING picture 😂 I did kind of suspect Wyatt, but not for any of the reasons he gave LOL I was thinking more along the lines of him not wanting the family name to be disgraced or something like that. But I really felt like the ending was a stretch after everything we went through. 1d

eeclayton Another well chosen photo that perfectly captures how I feel about the ending! #didnotseethiscoming #ifeelcheated 1d
Ruthiella So far fetched! 😂 I also feel let down by the ending. 1d
AnnCrystal Precious 🤩💝. 1d
KAO Cute picture! But that‘s the best part of this ending, in my opinion. I struggled with this whole book, I must confess! The language (so many regional and dated expressions!) was entertaining though. Thanks for guiding us through it, but I‘m glad to move on to Shirley! 1d
Bklover Well. It wasn‘t Meggie. I was so sure!! Apparently this is part of a series with Albert Campion. And again I say “huh?” 1d
Bklover And what a cutie pie!! Love the photo! 1d
lil1inblue That pic is the perfect reaction to this ending. #definitelyfeelcheated #whysorandom #whatthefork 1d
rubyslippersreads @Bklover I‘m curious whether anyone is going to read more books in the series, where Campion is more of the main character? I‘ve seen them praised by famous mystery writers, but I wonder if they‘re all as squirrely as this one? 😏 1d
mcctrish Your granddaughter wins!!! The only good part of the lame ass ending was Wyatt being proud of his perfect crime and Abbershaw pointing out all the holes and lack of perfection #dontquityourdayjobwyatt 1d
willaful @TheAromaofBooks yes, I was sure it was Wyatt but where on earth did that backstory come from?! 1d
willaful @rubyslippersreads they definitely get better, though I'm not sure I'm inclined to reread any. So many other books. 1d
dabbe @willaful @TheAromaofBooks This is when a detective story can feel like we got cheated. Where the hell did that backstory come from indeed? We therefore were not privy to all the information--which is why we feel cheated! And, for a series that is continuing on with Campion, where the hell was he? He's been AWOL for PAGES!!! Her first book was definitely experimental IMHO. I wonder if they get better, and I'm not sure I want to find out. 🤣 1d
dabbe Couldn't (again) have read through this without the incomparable @BarkingMadRead and this lovely group! 🩶🤍🩵 1d
ElizaMarie I was also so blindsided by this crazy, weirdness. As @dabbe mentioned, thank you again and again for @barkingmandread for being the amazing host that you are. Love this picture too! 1d
BarkingMadRead @anncrystal @kao @bklover @lil1inblue @mcctrish thank you!! I love her so much, she‘s such a joy! 1d
dabbe She is AD🩵RABLE! 1d
BarkingMadRead Yall, this book was nuts. I won‘t be reading any more of them 🤣 I wondered the same about campion. If she was going to use him in future, he should have played a role in the ending! So crazy!! 1d
BarkingMadRead @dabbe thank you!! 1d
Ruthiella @rubyslippersreads I will very likely continue. 1d
AllDebooks Oh my, she is adorable, and that look totally sums up this book. Absolute bonkers! I only continued reading for this group. You make the craziest, dullest books bearable with your hilarious #s, Kim. You are the 👑👸 of summarisation. Thank you for all your hard work @BarkingMadRead 💜 1d
AllDebooks @BarkingMadRead I hate this book and all its absurd pomposity. That proposal was madness! I will not be reading any more of her books. Thank you and goodnight. 1d
BarkingMadRead @AllDebooks thank you! And 🤣🤣🤣 1d
Gissy Adorable🥰 💖 1d
Larkken @rubyslippersreads I may continue. I find golden age mysteries to be very readable. However, I also suspected Wyatt, though not for the batty reasons he gave, and much like @TheAromaofBooks and @willaful (edited) 1d
Larkken Great photo! So cute and appropriate 🥰 1d
kwmg40 Thanks for sharing the great photo of your granddaughter! As for the book, I agree with others that this one was weak. However, I have enjoyed other Albert Campion books, and I did learn that Allingham had never meant to bring Campion back as a major character when writing this book, and only did so after her publishers insisted. 20h
