I‘ve got 11 hours left; I really hope I can finish it by the 12th. I‘m liking this one better than The Moon Sister. #audiowalk

I usually take a break between the Seven Sisters books, but this one is in Audible Plus right now, which means I don‘t have to use a credit for it — it goes back into the regular catalog on 8/12. I have 13 hours left. At first I didn‘t like Electra — she‘s so emotionally needy — but she‘s grown on me. #audiowalk
This is my least favorite of the Seven Sisters novels, so far. The setting in Grenada and Sacromonte, among the Roma cave dwellers was interesting, but I disliked Lucia — she is self-absorbed, selfish, uninteresting and uninterested in anything but her dancing. Tiggy is more wishy-washy. I wanted to like her better than I did. #audiowalk
I‘ve got 6 hours left in this book, and so far, it is my least favorite of the Seven Sisters books. It‘s not that the story isn‘t interesting — it is — but Tiggy‘s grandmother, Lucia, is insufferable. Also, if one more character said, “¡Dios mio!” one more time, I was going to go into the audiobook and smack them. #audiowalk
Periodically I decide I‘m going to read a book that I‘ve started multiple times over the years but never finished. Those decisions led me to finally finish In Cold Blood and Moby Dick, both of which I liked. This time, it‘s Beloved. I‘ve owned it since it came out and started it many times. I bought a new copy for incentive. Next might be Clive Barker‘s The Great and Secret Show.
I was having a nice little outdoor walk listening to The Moon Sister when, Boom! Thunder, lightning, then heavy rain. Luckily I was near a building. I had to call my son to come get me. Finished my #audiowalk at the gym. I haven‘t decided if I like Tiggy yet, but I was so sure that she would be the sister I‘d love.
I love the Murderbot books, and this one was no exception. I‘m invested in what he will do next. This time, I listened to the single narrator version not the dramatization. Both are good. Continued with The Moon Sister. #audiowalk
I‘ve read better Bachman books. This one, to my mind, was a bit rambling and could‘ve been a short story or a novella. #LosersClub Started The Moon Sister back up on my #audiowalk.
I‘m not really loving Roadwork, but I will finish it. It was warm today, but there was such a nice breeze by the bay that I was able to walk outside. #audiowalk #LosersClub
While I liked Unshrinking, I did find some of her arguments to be a bit off. Yes, BMI is a very flawed measurement; many people who aren‘t obese end up being classified that way because of it. However, Manne seems to argue that there‘s really nothing you can do about being fat, so you might as well not bother. As a fat person, I have a problem with this. I know skinny doesn‘t always equal healthy and fat doesn‘t always equal unhealthy. ⬇️
Listening to Lord of Light for #ClassicLSBC — it‘s the first Zelazny book I‘ve ever read. #audiowalk
There are two types of audiobooks for this title — one with one narrator and a dramatization with several. Both are good, but the dramatization isn‘t a big improvement over the other as most of it is through the eyes of our one murderbot. The story is good, but I missed ART, which is fair since our protagonist did too. #audiowalk
The Atticus Punt section of the book has picked up and is not quite so draggy now. I‘m still only about halfway through though. #audiowalk. The breeze was wonderful today.
Short walk today so I didn‘t get much listening in. I‘m still not sure how I feel about this novel, but I‘ve still got some time to figure it out. #audiowalk
Continued with the tagged book on my #audiowalk. I think I like the Hawthorne and Horowitz series better, but this one is decent too.
I liked All Systems Red and liked this one even better as we see our Murderbot attempting to navigate human society more. I think I‘ve found a new series. 😊. I started the tv show also and liked it too. I finished the book in the middle of my #audiowalk, so I started The Moon Sister.
The Atticus Punt sections of this novel seem a bit draggy to me. I don‘t remember that being the case in the other two books in this series. #audiowalk
Just as I needed to pick a new #audiowalk book, my library hold on Marble Hall Murders came in, so I started it. Short walk today.
This was a quick and enjoyable read. I wanted to see what it was about before I watched the show. I‘ll read more. #audiowalk
I really liked this book and will read others in the series. I found the way the Foundation sneakily forced its presence onto surrounding planets and the way it used religion to be very interesting. I could not walk on any of the wooded trails in this area because the yellow flies were just terrible! They forced me into sunnier spaces. #audiowalk #ClassicLSFBC
I walked in the morning, so it wasn‘t a hellscape out there. Still enjoying Foundation. I remember a fair amount of women in the tv series, but I think there‘s only been one in the book so far and she was a receptionist. #audiowalk #ClassicLSFBC
I found Shari Franke‘s account of her life and experiences with Ruby Franke —her mother, family vlogger, influencer, and convicted child abuser — to be compelling. I will occasionally watch a video with a cute baby in it; since reading Franke‘s book, I try not to do that anymore. Ruby blamed much of what she did on a woman she worked closely with, Jodi Hildebrandt, but it‘s clear that she was always abusive — Jodi just helped make it worse.
I had watched some of the tv series with my husband but never read the book. It‘s not what I was expecting, but I‘m really enjoying it. I‘m already more than half way through. #audiowalk #ClassicLSFBC
I still like Firestarter. What‘s weird though is that I always forget how it ends. It does hit a bit differently with what‘s going on with the government now. Given how awful Rainbird was, I feel that his fate was a little glossed over. #audiowalk #LosersClub
I only have a couple of hours left, and, even though I‘ve read this book multiple times, I‘m nervous for Andy and Charlie. #audiowalk #LosersClub
I got to walk outside today because it was actually coolish. Firestarter is scary to me because it‘s really people that are the monsters; nothing supernatural really. Just people. As Dean Winchester succinctly said, “Demons, I get. People are crazy.” #audiowalk #LosersClub
I hate John Rainbird. These are all feelings I‘ve had before; I just forgot about them. #audiowalk #LosersClub
No pictures or map from my #audiowalk. It was in the gym and boring. I had forgotten how much I hate the Shop in Firestarter. Government agencies with bad intentions also hit a bit different now. New little baby that my daughter found and brought home when he barely had opened his eyes yet. His name is Moxy, and he‘s doing well now. We weren‘t sure at first if he‘d be okay. #LosersClub
It‘s been a long time since I read this; my copy has the original white cover with fire partially covering a little girl‘s face. As with most King books for #LosersClub, if I‘ve read it in print before, I‘m using the audio for this reread. So far I‘m liking the narrator. #audiowalk
I didn‘t see much point to Natalie in Killers of a Certain Age, and I still don‘t see much point to her. It‘s as if Raybourn decided 4 would be better than 3, but she didn‘t know what to do with the 4th person. I still liked this book though. #audiowalk
Billie is being a little bit ridiculous. Her boyfriend is also a former assassin, but she wants to protect him like he‘s a delicate little flower. Long and quite warm #audiowalk today.
I loved Killers of a Certain Age, so I‘m happy to be listening to its sequel as my new #audiowalk book. So far, I‘m enjoying it. Today‘s walk was partly indoors and partly outdoors — the indoors is the big red clump on the map.
This was a fun book. Like its predecessor, it has Annie dealing with and trying to solve events that happened in her great aunt‘s early life. There was a lovely breeze today, making my walk lovely. You can‘t see it well, but the 2nd row left is some Pride chalk art in the park. #audiowalk
Low end of pick scale. I wanted to like this more than I did, but I could never get invested in the lives of any of the characters. Cassie is whiny and mopey; Zoe and Cherry are manipulative and care only about themselves. Also, I know Cassie is fat — I do not need to be reminded of it a million times. Since I finished this less than halfway into my #audiowalk, I switched my nighttime book, How to Seal Your Own Fate, to my walking book.
Zoe is quite manipulative, and it appears that her daughter, Cherry, inherited that trait. Zoe finally stepped up to the plate for her daughter, so that was good. I‘ve got a little over an hour left, so I should finish tomorrow. #audiowalk
Every day, I get more enraged by something Zoe‘s done. Today, instead, I was annoyed with Cassie, Russell (Zoe‘s husband), and the band‘s managers as well. Lots of annoyance to go around. Usually, the gps doesn‘t track well inside, but it did today. My time for 3 miles was pretty much the same as outdoors. The map is a big, red, blob because I was on a track. #audiowalk
More Zoe anger. She has pretty much everything; she‘s beautiful and popular — yet she begrudges her sister, Cassie, the one thing Cassie has: her musical talent. Ugh. 😣 I didn‘t think I‘d get to walk outside because it‘s been raining most of the day, but I managed it. #audiowalk
I‘m so mad at Zoe! Turns out she understood something her daughter had been complaining about for years and never helped her — just let her go through 14 years of it. Starting to get hot enough outside that I may have to move my walks indoors soon. 😞 #audiowalk
I really want to find out what Cassie did that‘s so horrible that she believes she must deny herself music for the rest of her life in order to atone. I went for a shorter walk today because I planned on swimming afterwards, but as I was headed back to the car, I heard thunder, so no pool. 😞. #audiowalk
For a change of pace, I chose Jennifer Weiner‘s latest as my new #audiowalk book. I had a little trouble getting into it at first, but now I‘m interested. The lovely breeze outside this evening made me choose an outside walk as opposed to the gym one that I‘d originally planned.
I really enjoyed this book. It was funny and touching at the same time. The tone is completely different from The Doomsday Book. I‘m not even sure our heroes are actually heroes — maybe they are just being used by the space-time continuum.
It‘s been a long day for me, but my #audiowalk was actually nice even though it was in the middle of the day. The breeze felt so good.
I‘ve still got 6 hours left in this book, and I‘m still enjoying it. Walked later in the evening because it‘s beginning to get a little too hot for the middle of the day. #audiowalk
I didn‘t feel like walking, but we went for a drive and my husband convinced me to just try a 5 minute walk. It felt good, so I walked two miles. #audiowalk
I can‘t make up my mind about Tossie. Sometimes she seems sweet, if a bit of a bimbo, and other times she‘s mean and a bit calculating. It was in the 80s today, but mostly a tad cloudy, so my walk wasn‘t too bad. That cat was giving me the stink eye when I passed it. #audiowalk
I‘m still enjoying this book. Temperatures are up from yesterday, but still nice. #audiowalk. I thought the Christmas bear would‘ve been taken down from the tree, but he‘s still there.
It‘s back to To Say Nothing of the Dog for my #audiowalk. It‘s much funnier than The Doomsday Book, and I have read Three Men in a Boat, which gets mentioned a lot, so that‘s an extra layer of understanding. Temperatures were cooler today because of all the rain we‘ve had, so there was a nice breeze on my walk. Mothers‘ Day flowers from my daughter.
Short #audiowalk today because of the potential for rain, so I didn‘t get much listening in.
Low end of the pick scale. I‘d have liked it better if I‘d known from the beginning that it‘s really a series of interconnected perspectives of characters that will never meet, but I kept wondering when all the threads would connect. Still, it‘s a ridiculous but funny premise that Scalzi uses to also be thoughtful. Wil Wheaton, as always, is a great narrator. Continued with The Dead Zone on my #audiowalk
