willaful I found this an absolutely fascinating chapter. Veronica is asking Sydney to help her accept what she thinks is her inevitable dreary lot in life, but refusing to see whenever Sydney suggests to her that it's not and that she has choices. And *she* feels sorry for Sydney! Sydney is in for a world of hurt, most likely, but she has the better chance of actually achieving happiness in her life. 14mo
